SO FRUSTRATING. This is one of my grail tracks. We may NEVER get to hear this in perfect studio quality. I feel it wouldn't be released unedited anyway. "I like to watch."

I honestly prefer a box set with only vault material ... our time in Planet Earth is limited! I think there are such amazing things in the vault that we wouldn´t even believe !!!

If it is already sequenced, I really don’t understand why the estate can’t release it and something else this year... Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I think there are such amazing things in the vault that we wouldn´t even believe !!! 1999 Deluxe has an album of unreleased material, some of which has been reported to have never circulated, even among collectors. As per Dr Funkenberry and others, you will not see significant vault material from the Estate for several more years due to legal reasons. Other than the upcoming exclusive Tidal album, it's been suggested that the only unreleased studio vault songs we are likely to hear for some time will be on Warner Bros reissue sets. This has been ready and sequenced since last year and was already postponed for a poor tape recording of a rehearsal of sketches and fragments that had already circulated on bootleg. The Estate and those advising them are clueless and completely ignorant to the desires of their primary market.

Deluxe this, deluxe that....as soon as they sort out the vault, they better realese all the live video footage Prince was famous for in bulk, that's all I can say, can start with the variety of live concerts from the after dark screenings at PP and the 2016 PP P&M gig. "Prince don't know how many hits he got"

I hate to say it, but I was again right when I said after the PR deluxe failure there won't be other deluxe releases. . Or else, it would have been released in 2017, for the 35th anniversary. . The Tidal deal seems as death as a doornail. . The Netflix documentary is not ready yet. . Sony legacy proudly announced officially 3 rereleases every months from February. Results: no release in March, Rave Un2 project pushed back 7 weeks after initial release date. Worst : nothing is scheduled for may and June ! Even unofficially from insiders that announced this deal way before it's officialisation, still no words about what's next. . Ouch. Just ouch. . 2020 will be an incredible year, I m sure, but this is clearly not what had been promised for 2019

We didn't even get an unreleased track with the exclusive 7" single giveaway so it's really bad now. I think it's best to not have any high expectations at this point. Welcome 2 The Dawn

I reallyhope, before I die, to learn the reasons behind the scenes, why these stupid decisions are made. . Because I really want to know why they couldn't release the same fucking year Piano83 and 1999 deluxe. Why they couldn't release one deluxe edition every 3 months. . I want to know they are waiting years and years, while the physical market was already almost dead in 2016 as the interest that is vanishing.

This entire thread is speculation. People tying themselves into knots over nothing.

What we all need is the rerelease of the new master 1999. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm thinking that we need to start some kind of petition to let Warners and the estate know exactly what we want we should be getting at least three 'deluxe editions' a year!

As i mentioned before PRINCE's stuff is scattered and I personally dont think he really cared about "after I am gone". Because of Prince's battles with WB and his one off deals and NPG label and other scattered things I really just dont think we are going to ever see a lot of what we think WE SHOULD see. Morris Hayes who was the one band member that was with the man longer than anyone, was probably his closest friend in a band till at least 2012 which is when Mr Hayes says "he needed a break", Morris has said, "If the estate wants my help, just call" his phone has never rung nor has any label contacted him. Prince's stuff is divided, he has deals with labels and digital distribution, vinyl reissues, all over the place. We of course all want what we want but again i think at this point "think of getting nothing" and then you will be happy, because we are not really going to see what we want or think we should be getting. You are not going to get live gigs and unreleased videos, so far his YouTube channel hasnt even been able to figure out HD, on things that have been out there, and you want them to start pushing out new unheard and unseen stuff? Not going to happen. At this point be glad that certain Youtube things have not been shut down that have been showing and sharing things also some FB pages have been sharing some "unreleased" videos, with a new YouTube law that passed in the UK get ready to start seeing ALOT disappear once this comes here. So I know we all want PRINCE to be handled like Bowie releases and the way Pearl Jam and Springsteen turn out tons of live stuff and rare things, it is just NOT going to happen. Bowie has control a long time ago, Prince did not, also Prince has a lot more un heard stuff and unreleased stuff than Bowie and also Bowie had a label that was holding on to this stuff, WB was not even aware of things, they are clueless he had a vault and also alot is in poor condition and not in order. Some have even compared this to the Beatles, and Im like "What"! The beatles had studio people and a prodcuer that was taking care of these tapes and recordings, PRINCE kicked technicians out the room, so really if you are lucky to get something at the point, be happy. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
