When Phase I came out I was so mad at Prince. I thought that it was a lazy hack job and I roasted him for it on here. On 1/23/16 Prince and the DJ played a bunch of songs from Phase 1 at a Paisley Dance party and it completely changed my view of the album. There are some bad songs on there like Aint About to Stop, but I now have a new appreciation for other songs like 1000 X'sO's, Like a Mack, June, Shut it Down, etc. It was an experimental album for him and it did push fans to open our minds to something different. I probably work out to this album more than any other Prince album, so I hesitate to put it on the list.

I don't like instrumental music to begin with, so certainly with a voice as beautiful as Prince's his instrumental albums are automatically his worst to me. So Kamasutra, NEWS, C-Note and Xpectation are his worst.
But if I have to choose from the other ones:
1. Diamonds & Pearls 2. Plectrum Electrum 3. Hit 'n' Run Phase 1
There are some boring albums like Musicology, The Vault and One Nite Alone, but I'm kind of meh about them. My top 3 have elements I really dislike (1: **** M, 2: No other people on Prince albums with lead vocals please, 3: the production)
It boggles my mind that people mention The Black Album & The Gold Experience in this thread.

NorthC said: Top 3? Top 30 more like. He didn't release one great album after Lovesexy. He still released lots of good music, but his albums were never as great as they used to be. Always full of ups and downs. And there were always enough ups to keep you interested, you just had to wade through all the downs. +1 It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN
