I hope that's a stand-in price and will be half that when it comes out. Because Parke & the other photographer (whose name I can ever get right, forgive me as I'm too lazy to look it up but still type this long ass sentence that took as long as me possibly just searching for the other photographer's name but oh well it gives [certain people snip] something to bitch about) had books that were half the price with tons of stories and photos.

Or if Prince signed it. And we know that ain't happening. I did send her a note on Instagram about it, asking what's up. Not sure if she'll ever reply, but it was worth a shot.

You mean Afshin Shahidi? Or Alan Beaulieu?

I bought them both, and the Steve Parke one, and they all cost me less than 35 $ each.

I think Afshin´s and Alan´s books really complement each other and are a bit similar in nature in that they both show Prince in some private moments. Sure, the pictures in Afshin´s book are not as "private" or spontaneous as Alan´s photographs but that´s because of the huge time difference between both eras.

I always liked Randee St. Nicholas´ work but 75 dollars is a ridiculous price.

Surprised to see folks balking at the price without any details (actually, that sounds just about right for this place), but I would think $75 indicates it will be a large format hard cover; a coffee table took, so to speak.

$75 is overpriced for any book, I don't care who or what it's about, that's ridiculous! Clearly the publisher is taking advantage of Prince fans, and the fact that he is no longer alive, to over inflate the price for profit.

According to Amazon.com the book is 11X13 and 288 pages. Books never end up being the full price when they go on sale anyway. Randee is more well known than Afshin, Steve, or Allen. Her's is a bargain compared to Robert Whitman's Pre Fame book. I think I paid nearly $150 for his.
