In the early days after P's passing, I remember remarks in the press about the death scene looking staged or tampered with. Perhaps there was something about the scene that made the officials classify K as an offender, and/or as someone said, whatever K initially said to the authorities. (What caused the stain on the rug that Theo refers to that KJ wanted immediately removed).
Also, the investigation, IMO, required a seasoned, veteran investigator, willing to dig deep, not affected by celebrity or P, (maybe somewhat by P), someone knowing more about the entertainment business, not too nice or afraid to offend -- a Colombo.

that someone who said that was me. Agreed on not only a seasoned investigator on the case initially and throughout- but this should've been handed over to the FBI off the bat. They knew they were in over their heads.

does anyone know if there's any way to get this case reopened???

I think it could be re-opened if some extraordinary evidence was found, or someone made a new statement about the death ... I don't think the family is focused on finding out exactly what happened but if some bigtime investigator could dig into this, maybe new information would be unearthed. Or an author writing a book about it - where is Ian Halperin when you need him? I know he has a questionable reputation, but he or someone like him would be the one to dig through everything.

ISLIJAG.
From what the press conference inferred in April, unless new evidence/leads come up-no, it will not be re-opened. BUT, I wish there was a way to charge those involved with incompetence and have it turned over to the FBI....Like ISLIJAG has said before in the past, we do not have access to the DEA files, so there's that.

In that same vein, we need to remember that Prince told KJ ' I can't kick this...' on 4/20/16. It's in the investigative files.

Barney Fife and Columbo couldn't 'find enough evidence'. If this case would've been in the hands of competent investigators from the get go- maybe that would not have been the case. Have you even read the files to understand exactly how incompetent these gum shoe detectives were??

Thanks for bringing this important quote back into the conversation... This is what Kravitz said: "I saw him so much, in and out, that I can’t remember the last time we spoke. I heard about the plane landing the other week. And I knew what it was. I thought, “Okay, he dodged a bullet. Close call, but it’s a one-off and we move on.” And then a week later, I got the news. It knocked me really out. I still haven’t really recovered. Not to be dramatic or overly sensitive, but I really feel like a piece of me died." The wooh is on the one!

This interview with Krvitz was done by Jonsey on the day of Prince's death. The underlined words are not Kravitz's- unless he regurgitated the same story with a different interviewer I am unaware of.

What a stupid thing to say - he obviously knew P. was an addict --when do addicts just move on??!! Did he talk to him after the plane incident, or did he just "move on"? This person considers himself a friend??!! I know, some will say "what would you expect him to do?" and my answer is ALOT more than he did. He knew and just blew it off and now wants sympathy that a piece of him died. No it did not, but Prince is really dead...forever, Lenny!!

Oh, and "I saw him so much, in and out, that I can't remember the last time we spoke" like he was his BFF. Lenny should be amazed that P. ever gave his punk ass the time of day!! Did P. have one REAL friend in this world? With friends like these, who needs enemies!!! [Edited 7/24/18 9:05am]

[Edited 7/24/18 8:59am] Totally disagree...he knew, they all knew, or he wouldn't have assumed he knew what happened on the plane. Consider the line of work these people are in...they've seen the result of addiction many many times over.

I think the "one off" comment came from Lenny believing Prince could handle his addiction because he had been handling it for years. Now, over the past two years we have learned there were some hospital visits along the way which the public didn't know about, but you can be sure there was chatter in the music industry. As another poster said, this is the music business - "they" have seen it all a hundred times over.

He said that AFTER P. died to cover his ass for doing nothing. How do we know he did nothing? Because he would have bragged about that, too, if he had. If he jumped to that conclusion (remember, we were all shocked), he knew!! [Edited 7/24/18 9:19am]
