I'm a wedding DJ on the side and of all the weddings done I've only had Prince requested one time, and it was a 11 year old boy in a purple tie! He wanted to hear Let's Go Crazy!

I always do my best to 'sneak' a few in during the meal or cocktail hour. I will also play his music while I'm tearing down.

My trailer and my computers both have Paisley Park and Love Symbol emblems on them, hoping one day it sparks interest smile

I got married in 2002. I had the DJ we hired play A LOT or Prince - stuff like
DMSR, Kiss, Let’s Work, etc. It KILLED. Every person - Black, White, Puerto Rican, everybody just a freakin’. My 75 year old grandma bouncing to 1999 is an image that will be seared in my memory forever...

I got married in 2008. I sang Forever in my life as my wife walked down the aisle. Our first dance was to Call my name. And then we had a crap load of Prince played through out the night. There was no way he wasn’t gonna he a huge part of that night. No way.

I was married in 2008 as well. I don't recall any Prince songs being played at my reception. I hired my DJ for his ability to entertain my guests, not to play just songs I like. I trusted him with anything he wanted to play. Darn it, I even did all the line dances including the chicken dance and it WAS FUN! As somebody who has DJed hundreds if not thousands of weddings, I know the reception is for the guests. The rest of the day is for the couple. Family and friends will judge the whole day based on the fun they had at the reception. That being said, had he played any Prince songs, I know it would have fit the moment and would have been just as fun.

Now, when my daughter gets married, I have already told her that the father/daughter dance will be done to "Purple Rain" lol It was the first Prince song she loved. She's only 15 so it may be some time before that happens.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

AT our wedding we had I Wanna Be Your Lover, Forever In My Life and – of course – Let's Pretend We're Married.

I thought of these songs as being really just for us. Don't think many others notice or cared.

Excellent question. I'd have quite a few in there, no question.

I got married last October.

We had the wedding party introduced to Let's Go Crazy.

The wedding party dance was The Bird - The Time.

The very last song of the night we requested be Baby I'm a Star.

I also think 1999 was played and possibly Kiss.

I find it quite bizarre that a big Prince fan wouldn't have any Prince music at their wedding. And it's not as if he's an obscure artist - most people will know the hits.

My reception in 2013 was heavy on Prince and related artists, in addition to a focus on late 80s/early 90s R&B and hip-hop. It was GREAT.

We had his version of Betcha By Golly Wow played while we signed the wedding register. It was actually my wife's choice and she's not really a fan either.
.
It was also used on our wedding dvd and works really well as the opening music

Well, from experience, we did:

Let's Go Crazy (as an intro)
The One (Bride and Groom dance)
Love (once people were drinking and dancing)

I'm divorced now so your mileage may vary.

Some of the lyrics to "Adore" were printed on my wedding invitation, and "With You" was the song for our first dance. After that, no music was played because we got married in my father's backyard on a beautiful Saturday morning, had the reception in the backyard as well, and wanted people gone as soon as possible so that we could leave for our honeymoon.

Honestly probably not a WHOLE lot (unless I married another Prince FAM/FAN) because my family and friends would not be on board. But definitely Adore, I would Die 4 you, Cool, 773, beautiful loved and blessed, Doves, Erotic City...Girlfriend, well, never mind guess it would be a lot. Maybe easier to list what I would not have played...Head, Sister...
