Looky, looky. What have we here?

The earrings were more like an aesthetic diversion.
I can totally see Prince embarking the novelty of not having these cumbersome stage monitors
between him and the public.

There was a period where every major artist did the transition, then every artist was wearing a pair,
but in pictures, they showed.
I can totally picture SKipper going: "Hey, plus, they gonna help hiding these ugly gummy earbuds". cool
Always the aesthete, right? Oh well, it's a fun theory.

At these pro levels, they do a wax impression of your ear for maximum confort, and also,
you can do headbanging and they won't come off. Pricey shit.

Good points on The GirlBros upbringing.
They were Royal (musical) Blood.
They knew their shit.

They went along just fine and their awards prove they are composers who could bring lots with very little. The sustained longing Prince was going for in WHITECAPS is truly here, in Wendy and Lisa's whisper to Hejira, and you can bet Wendy is singing to that special purple someone: The lyrics are just too straightforward to be mistaken.

"I scream when I breathe", sings Wendy in "The Life".
The colors she brought to "Purple Rain" are hers, and she will make sure it is heard.

Prince, What the fuck does This Bed have to do with it?
Oh well. Your anguish of friends missing had to come from somewhere.

I just read a sadly disappointing article about what he was like to his sound and light crew during the Nude tour. Apparently, he was a nightmare. Sad. I knew he was demanding and impatient but this sounds like something like bullying and buttons pushing. Apparently, the dude said PRince paid extremely well (better than any other musicians he had ever worked with) and was great to watch but was extremely difficult to be around and would find ways to push your buttons and get you pissed off (apparently for no apparent reason). He said the lighting guy would leave when he knew Prince was coming. . Hell, maybe Prince thought he could act that way since he was paying so well. Anyhow, did he grow kinder at all?? I don't mind demanding and tempermental due to perfectionism (and I understand firing those who don't measure up or are not what you need) but pushing buttons just piss folks off ... not cool. Also, I wonder why? Seems like a waste of energy and time. I am thinking that despite his moodiness he must have lightened up a bit in his later years in comparison to the Nude Tour days...Scottie Baldwin called him a gentleman even though he also stated he was acting eratic at times. Makes me think that even though he had his difficult moments, he wasn't going out of his way to pick on sound guys if they were doing their jobs well..

Okay, I went back and read more accounts from engineers on this site. They weren't all bad. He was demanding but he knew his stuff.I don't know maybe folks didn't understand how much he knew and were acting hot shit around him and he didn't have the tolerance to deal with that. I hated reading that article. Davey Moire was his name.

as someone who worked on his tours, prince had his good days and his bad days, plus keep in mind, most of his crew were not experience enough where they would know not to take it personality

That's great - which tours were you on? I imagine he was all business when it came to showtime, which is understandable.

I always assumed Alan Leeds recruited top notch personel, giving Prince's very high standards.
His workaholism and prefectionism quickly acquired mythical statuses by the end of the eighties.
Well, the shows showed it. I thought that performing so good was also the byproduct of very efficient teams around him.

Maybe Roy Bennett is to give credit, but I have this romantic impression of the roadie,
as the unsung hero without which the show wouldn't even show up.

I'm basing my opinions of Jill based on her behavior and words on facebook 2017 and 2018. Not heresay or half truths.

that might not be the best thing to base your opinion on, i'm sure i come across as difficult and angry online, anyone who knows me would disagree.

I was trying to be polite about Jill on line quotes, but I would describe her as erratic, perhaps even mentally disturbed. Yes, that's how I would decribe it.

i haven't seen anything that would make me think that but maybe you've seen some things i didn't. anyway, questioning someone's intelligence/sanity is usually the first thing people do when they want to discredit someone so i just usually ignore that kind of talk unless i really know the parties.

Great Photo. Sheila wearing safety glasses! lol Reminds me of a big metal sign I found after Katrina that says Hard Hat & Life Jackets Required Beyond This Point.
