We do? How do we know that? Did you know him personally? It has never been said in an official capacity that he was suffering from chronic pain.

If you choose to believe he was not suffering from chronic pain and was instead using recreationally then that is your choice.

Nope, I believe he had chronic pain. It's just never been confirmed. I also believe that if he had chronic pain, that he could have gotten those scripts legally and safely, and he didn't have to resort to street drugs.

My hubby has severe chronic pain. I know what happens and I know how easily addicting these pills can be.

____

My thoughts are, he had chronic pain with his hip, the Drs. gave him scripts for the pain at some point. They have made these drugs hard to get even for the people who need them. He could not obtain them legally any longer.

He had to resort to the streets to obtain them. This 1 time he got a bad batch, that happens all the time. I don't think P stood on a street corner and found somebody to sell them to him.

The family needs to have a press conference.

Agreed. Celebration Week is about his amazing 40-year career, not dragging out the details of his sad demise. At some point, we all are going to have to accept that we may not ever know or understand everything about his death, and that's just how it is. Whatever he was struggling with, he chose for it to be his private cross to bear.

It depends on where they file.

If they file in Illinois or in Federal Court for medical malpractice it is a 2 year statute of limitations.

However, in Minnesota it is a 4 year statute of limitations.

Yep and I get for some there won’t be closure until they know the ‘why’. But at some point we have to accept the ‘why’ may never come.

Not true. He made everyone believe he had no use for drugs and he lived clean. And I think a lot of us are disappointed.

There's a major difference between medicating for chronic pain and using recreational drugs. In all other aspects Prince was clean living.

Have you ever experienced chronic pain? If you ever do I hope you're not met by your own severity of judgement.

It would be a very difficult case to win unless there is something in the medical records from Illinois that we do not know about.

Prince was wheeled out on a hand truck for his performance with her because that is how JANELLE enters the stage at most of her concerts. He was just having fun. Nothing to do with his physical pain.

Layitdown said:

...it was right in front of r eye's

I've followed him 4 more than 20 years...since his passing..I've gone back & watched a lot of videos, footage...live per4mances etc.

Not really listening 2 the music...just watching more of him than I did when he was living.

I've noticed a few things:

- Prince was obviously in pain & it impacted a lot of what he did on stage. For example, the riding of the Walmart cart into the arena b4 the show. We now know why.

- Being wheeled out on a hand truck during the Janelle Monae concert. We now know why.

- There is a cell phone video of him walking through an airport in London from 2004 and he CLEARLY has a limp.

- Welcome 2 America tour, he's standing on the piano singing, and when he would normally jump off. He sat down and slid off the piano.

- Watching recently released concert footage of an aftershow in L.A, when he walks out on stage..dude is limping. NOT PIMPIN' ...limping favoring his hip. Even to the point where there is a stool in the center of the stage waiting 4 him 2 sit down on.

- Riding his bike. The best exercise 4 him & that pain would be riding a bike and we saw him doing that a lot. Also riding a bike would keep him from walking as much.

- Tavis Smiley interview from B.E.T (the first one), Tavis was clowning him 4 tripping over a monitor speaker that was on stage. I personally believe that's when he injured his hip. The heels and splits, jumping around on stage did not help.

From what we now know...if U just go back and watch, the pain was right in front of us people, 4 a long time, I guess we (I) just never paid it much attention. I saw it as his sense of humour ...but he was hiding the pain obviously.

SheilaE said that dude was in a lot of pain constantly. She also said that he wouldn't tell her things & they would fall out because he knew that she would do something about it.

It was right in front of r eye's & that makes me feel some kind of way I guess...that nobody did anything about it. Not that I was searching 4 evidence of his pain, now it just stands out.

Is it me looking 4 it, or have y'all noticed it 2?

also, Prince used to enter and exit venues inside an equipment box... hide in plain sight. I was at a show and one of the band was standing in the crowd (near a soundboard) and I when said hello... and I saw them wheeling in a big box with his head of security... and I asked "Hey is that the boss?" and he did not say anything... it was him.

Wait...now I did find this... "Like all states, Minnesota has a time limit for filing a wrongful death lawsuit in court. This kid of deadline comes from a law known as a statute of limitations. In Minnesota, a wrongful death lawsuit must be filed within three years of the date of the deceased person's death. If the claim is not filed within three years, the court will likely refuse to hear it at all, with a few rare exceptions."

According to this CNN article about no charges being filed in Prince's death: https://www.cnn.com/2018/...ndex.html , Kirk got a legitimate Rx of Percocet for Prince the night before Prince died. So why did Prince die? Was he in denial and took the illegal pills anyway? Something does not add up.

I live with the effects of chronic pain with my husband 24/7. My husband is in so much pain that he wakes up screaming. Every night I look over at him and see tears running down his face. He screams when he takes a shower because the water feels like acid on his skin. They took him completely off this mess of a drug and it took 5 years to wean him off. I know what I'm talking about. I do not judge people for taking legal drugs for chronic pain.

funny thing about folks who are that damning, the ones i've known are usually the biggest weasels and the weakest people. My brother and i got into an arguement the other day about a legal issue i had, he was acting like i got into trouble all the goddamned time. I'm gonna fix his ass though, he puts my name on his taxes as a dependent when i ain't no goddamned dependent, no, i'm not going to tell the irs on his ass, just scare the shit out of him with that, i'll have him crying and begging.
