The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

ya, i've known a lot of people like that, they aren't really that confident and they hate being alone because they can't stand themselves. It's sad really, common amongst the alcoholics I've known.

herb4 said: I'll ask again for anyone who knows about these thing: In my opinion, it was his way of experimenting with arrangement, instrument, or effects to create a new type of sound texture, and also his ability to invent hooks either in traditional melody, or through a looped, featured part of the rhythm; that new noise that was the signature of the song ( songs like Le Grind or Return of the Bumpsquad clearly illustrate this) But more basic than that, he really understood contrast and drama in production. for me, his very best music had everything working perfectly together to serve the song. little red corvette, simple drum beat, nothing fancy but so perfect for the song that i can't imagine any other beat, the solo by dez, hendrixian more hendrixian than Prince usually went in those days, the synth motif playing throughout made the song all capped off with that perfect pop chorus which echoed the motif only with the jazz notes dropped off and a register higher. When they say one man band, it's not just his ability to play, that means little, it's his ability to put the pieces together in a way that is perfectly cohesive. | |
