It's consistent with how he lived. He sat cheerily with Oprah saying everything with his child was "all good" when he and Mayte had gone through the unimaginable pain of their child's death just weeks before. I understand wanting privacy but pretending like nothing is wrong isn't healthy. Cancel the interview and release a simple "please respect our privacy during this difficult time" statement. I don't think Prince liked acknowledging that anything was beyond his control, and sadly here we are.
The Oprah interview is always so odd to watch.
I don't think Prince ever specifically says "our son is all good" or anything like that. What Prince says is "our family is good" - which, if you mean himself and Mayte and their future, that was probably true at the time.
I personally don't believe that Prince was up for that interview. I think he had so much invested in Emancipation (time, money, PR) that he almost HAD to do the interview for the album's sake. The interview was just a few days after the release of Emancipation -- so rescheduling was probably not an option.

Mule: Your above comment is exactly why I think it's strange they had him cremated so quickly. Usually they keep the body for further examination/investigation.
the super-fast cremation will ALWAYS be a red flag to me... i initially thought it was a hit, but i had slowly given in to believing the media reports about the drugs and whatnot, but im again starting to get the gut feeling (again) that he was murdered...too much smoke and mirrors... and i believe Mayte when she says he had a will (at one time)...the icons have always seemd to depart under devious and dubious circumstances.... so why would the One & Only Prince Nelson be any different...and he had several people (some in very high places) that would have had reason to have him bodied...
.
Same here. It's common protocol when there is a suspicous death, that they hold the body for further investigation. Also, odd because it was deemed a homicide investigation after he was cremated. I think the Carver County Sheriff dropped the ball on this one.
