Sexy MF: Who's singing the chorus line?

listening to peach and block podcast and they say Levi is saying "You sexy mutha f*cka!" after each turn around, but to me it sounds like Prince himself.

Having watched several of the boots of the Diamonds and Pearls Tour as well as the ACT I and ACT II Tours, you can see/hear Levi singing it. Also, on the Sacrifice of Victor Show, you can hear/see Levi scat while playing the guitar, and that sounds like the person singing the chorus of "Sexy MF" as well.

Levi...

"'Sexy MF' is a merger of 'old school' funk with modern R&B music. The song is built around the drums and bass, though the bassline is somewhat subdued. Added to this is a consistent electric rhythm guitar undertone and horn stabs from the NPG Hornz. Throughout the song, the horns are given the chance to shine, along with a sax solo from Brian Gallagher. Musical solos are also provided by Levi Seacer, Jr. (guitar) and Tommy Barbarella (organ). The music and most of the lyrics were composed by Prince, while Seacer came up with the chorus and the song's title. Tony M. delivers a rap which he wrote. It has been covered by the Dave Matthews Band as a segue into their song 'Jimi Thing.' The song was recorded in Paisley Park Studios' Studio A. The title line was recited into a Shure SM57 by Levi Seacer, Jr." http://bit.ly/1NoDP2b

Agreed. His voice sounds nothing like Prince's at all. Apart from the rap, Prince only comes in during the refrain at the end.

And live, as mentioned, it was clearly Levi taking this line.

It's not really a chorus, but that has nothing to do with who's singing

It doesn't say he sang it. It says he did the solos.

The verses are rapped. That's what I'm referring to. Prince only sings the chorus line in the refrain in the concluding part of the song.

And the vocal on the chorus line sounds nothing like Prince at all. But then again, I've had people insisting to me that the baritone voice on 'Push it Up' is Prince's, rather than Larry Graham's...

after listening to it though, it could be, usually i'm pretty good at recognizing voices so I'm surprised I never noticed that it may not have been Prince before.

you, know, whoever is singing it isn't really singing very loud so it's hard to tell, it sounds barely above a whisper.
