. Addiction isn't a moral issue. It's your brain telling you that you need more of something. It could be sex, alcohol, shopping, food, or a drug. If the drugs didn't rewire your brain, you wouldn't be addicted. Welcome to "the org", laytonianโฆ come bathe with me.

-Because she knew him for 29 years and knows more than any of us know. Prince had freinds and they did not all look like Wendy and Lisa. Kim comes off in her inyerviews as being for real and that scares those of you that want him to be the poster boy for addiction or just forget he was even a person.

Because of your ignorance I'll forgive the insults. But he is the poster boy for overdoses now, do you ever hear anything on the news about the opioid epidemic that doesn't mention Prince's overdose? No. It's called reality, face it.

I have read quite a few articles about Prince that manage not mention it had it has nothing to with his music, charitable giving, or personal giving. In fact the only people really interested in making him the poster boy are tabloids, former drug addicts, and people who love sterotyping black people.

She is saying he was not a drug addict. People need to stop getting in their feelings about drug addiction. Agree... Kim made a clear statement yet the usual want to put a spin on her words. So they must have known him better than her and were there those final days

. True. Whenever a famous person dies of a drug overdose, the media loves to rip them to shreds; anything to make a buck. Shameless.

she did mention she saw him a couple of weeks prior... more recent than most of us posting about him

Drug addicts are not a monolith. Obviously Prince had a problem with substances. He died from a fentanyl overdose. He had dozens of pills stored in various bottles around his home. But he was not an addict in the stereotypical sense. He was not stealing for a fix. He did not look slovenly. He cared for himself. He managed whatever was happening, and kept up appearances. This is the other face of dependency and addiction.

He was the face of dependency not addiction but keep discounting what someone who worked with him for 29 years is saying. Since he passed not one singel person he worked with has said "he was stoned out of his ass all the time."

She only stopped working for him a few weeks prior and she had seen him a few weeks before he passed. Pay attention. The out of control drug addict does not fit what people and the public saw.
It is obvious he had health issues other than the use of pain meds and something caused his use of these pain pills to accelerate enough so he tried to withdraw. Could have been illness or increased joint pain but something made him accelerate his use of them.
He did not get 65k in medical expenses on his inventory report buying illegal pain meds. People who knew him keep saying we do not know the whole story so obvisouly something else was going on with his health.

I remember her saying when she last saw him but I don't remember her ever saying that she had stopped working for him. Paisley Park is in your heart

I remember an interview she did were she said a few weeks prior to his death. He was doing his own hair a lot after he went with the fro. I think she may have said it on the Mike Dean show. It sticks out in my mind because Van Jones said he stopped working for Prince a week or so before he died and Prince had a really small staff working for him. I am sorry but it all points to someone winding things down.

I'm sure there are specific medical definitions for each but it seems like to the general public addiction is considered bad or at least worse than dependency. For me I'm hoping some good can come from high profile deaths like this. We need a better way of handling and treating pain. Maybe it's not possible for everyone to be completely pain free. But certainly the medical profession needs to come up with a better way of treating pain than handing out opioids like candy. Paisley Park is in your heart

Of course there has to be better ways to come up with pain management that does not end in death. I wish more people would look at the aspect of it but just last week we saw the media launch an attack on Tiger Woods who has had four back surgeries but according to the media he is some washed up pill head. Never mind he was given those meds by a doctor for back pain.
