I am sorry but a orger belived you were around in 84 and I pointed out you were not around and I woud be curious to know what exactly you worked on with Prince? What albums and when and what could you have that has anything to do with PR?
These question are not unusual as you were nine in 1984. I would love to see Allen Beaulieu 3,000 photos and I wonder why he was not consulted? We need old heads for these projects and since many are alive and well what is the reason they are not being utlizled?
You want assumptions I hope WB is not making an assumption that fans are going to buy whatever they throw out and I hope they learned their lesson with "Prince4Ever"
Once again, Allen Beaulieu DID NOT SHOOT Purple Rain. Larry Williams shot him for Rolling Stone and Prince liked it so much he had WB use the photos for the album poster and for publicity. Ron Slenzak shot the set photos that ended up being the cover image. Prince asked Larry to shoot the "When Doves Cry" video and shot more photos (the album poster and exclusive images I mentioned having licensed to WB for the deluxe). All this to say your Allen B reference and argument makes no sense. And as far as not being impressed with the quality, wait until you see how amazing the printing is. And the involvement of the Revolution and another person who was very involved then, should put your complaints at bay. I'm typing fast from a recording studio so forgive any typos. MB
I never said Allen did any photos for Purple Rain however, he does have a lot of shots from the early 80s and we know WB threw some music on this set that has nothing to do with PR at all so why not throw in some pics from the early 80s.
Oh and one of the photo's from Mr. Williams we already saw before so what is the big deal. Different poses standing around on the set. I am sorry not impressed thus far from what I see concerning the packaging. It looks cheap but that was my expectation so this is not really a big deal. [Edited 6/13/17 4:59am] |

Well there you go. I think WB must be devestated that you aren't impressed. Maybe the release should be cancelled? Maybe I'll halt all other projects now just in case they are not up to your level of quality. 😂 laurarichardson said:

Well arrogant one I am one of many that are purchasing it and if WB puts out crap fans will not buy the product. I hope they saw that with Prince4ever but if they have arrogant people like you involved who think the customers opinions do not matter well they are going to be in big trouble. Maybe UMG should be the one handling these projects as much as I hate parroting anything Londell has to say about WB but maybe some of that old arrogance has not gone away.

Humor and arrogance are two different things. I simply disagree about it being crap. There's amazing material from the vault. Things we didn't know existed. Why are you buying it if it's such crap? I think you just like to talk crap to get a reaction. And I work with UMG more than WB anyway, sorry for the sarcasm. The Larry Williams photos are fascinating considering we've only seen 3-5. And there are set ups that have never been seen at all. But that will be for later. Most people -not you, I get it- will be blown away by these. Not just the ones in the PR release. And if you listen to Father's Song and say you are disappointed, or think it's crap, then you can't be a Prince fan :) laurarichardson said: Well arrogant one I am one of many that are purchasing it and if WB puts out crap fans will not buy the product. But no wonder my friend SIFI left this place though. Who needs hate when people like us who are actually involved try to please the fans and get insulted. It's why I left here a decade ago after I worked on "Ultimate Prince."
But keep in mind Mathieu...that there are a lot of People here on the Org who are Charming people always grateful with those who are ready to share interresting & inside infos as uself......so don't left us ( i was sad by the gone of SIFI)...keep the faith & FXXX OXX the haters here.. ..they know who they are!

Funny thing is, I've received Mod threats of temp bans for being critical of Bart's "politeness" in responding to his responses on threads. And those weren't even close to how she's coming off. And what's even funnier then that? I'm starting to think Bart is one of the few sane ones left around here. Imagine that? |

You’re definitely onto something. While BVH can be as abrasive as scrubbing someone’s nuts with a Brillo pad, I cannot recall where he’s launched a personal attack or told someone to STFU just because he was contradicted. At least he sticks with the facts or the matter at hand.
Anyway, yay “never before seen visual stuff”. Can’t wait until next Friday.

I'll go a step further...dude's a bonafide asshole. Not sure it'd be a personal attack if it's true. He's bitter as Hell...to the point it seems like maybe Prince had kicked his dog or wronged his sister while he was here. And he's as off-putting as they come. But you're right about one thing. He has a shit-ton of facts. Can't dispute that.
I did mention he's an asshole, right? Uh oh, maybe another temp ban threat is coming my way... |
