Regarding the DVD, I'm wondering if When Doves Cry will be as the original K7 video (with this stupid effect as on the promo video).

What's so stupid about it? I think its actually cool looking

It reduces the video perforance to a blur of a mess thats nonsensical. I mean little kids like kleidescopes and all, but for it to be a major part of an instant classic video where Prince gets down with his bad self, is awful.

They certainly aren't one song,

they don't even sound like they were meant to be on the same album; Our Destiny really sounds like a Possessed kind of Purple Rain-ish track,

Roadhouse Garden, we all know, belongs somewhere later, after ATWIAD ...

Were they meant to be put together on a later album? ...

"Although tracked separately in the studio [Roadhouse Garden] seems to have purposively conjoined with Our Destiny. This is the case for the live version and the two songs (using the same four-on-the-floor bass drumbeat) were also mixed together segueing into one another in the studio rendition."

Do you think Prince picked the selection of 'unreleased' songs? Or was his intention to only release the Purple Rain remastered cd and lp? I think he might have something to do with it, at least with some songs. He played Electric Intercourse live in 2014 and The Dance Electric live in 2015. Songs he did not play that often.

I was kinda thinking...he could have given them a few vault songs for the new greatest hits collection he wanted them to put out. Warner could have taken the songs he gave them for that and mixed them up with stuff they had from their vault for the bonus disc of Purple Rain Deluxe.
