What were his reasons to do piano and mic tour? i strongly believe

that Prince did that tour because he wanted to challenge himself

as an artist and do things he never done before.

i dont believe that he did it because he wanted

to say goodbye and bullshit like that.

HERE IS THE REASON FROM THE MAN HIMSELF

Never one to do things by the book, music’s greatest axeman, Prince, will trade in his guitar for a piano when he heads out on the road later this month. As Dr Funkenberry points out, the Prince Spotlight: Piano & A Microphone Tour will see the Purple Wonder do just that: perform solo with only a piano for 16 dates across the UK and Europe.

Prince explained his reasoning for the tour in a statement, saying, “Why do this now? For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge. I rarely get bad reviews because this is something that’s been perfected 4 over thirty years. You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get. ”

I honestly believe he was suffering from some kind of arthritic condition in his hip and possibly other joints, which gave him difficulty walking. He went from doing a full arena tour of Australia in 2012 (of which I saw 4 shows) During whIch he was dancing, walking around and moving around non stop, like the prince we've always known - to then switching in 2013-2015 to a power rock trio 3rd EYE GIRL which allowed him to stay in just one place and play guitar, to then switching to just sitting at a piano because it would allow him to sit down for the performance and not have to walk around. Even at the 2012 Australian shows he was sitting in a black box and being wheeled to and from the stage to avoid walking, we took it as showmanship at the time but looking back I think he couldn't walk long distances, something was clearly up.

He was doing this at least since the O2 shows in 2007.

To get on (under) the stage unseen.

Yeah I get that but then when you notice that in 2014/15 he performed with Janelle Monae and had someone wheel him onto the stage on a trolley, in plain view of everyone..? When you start looking at it from the point of view of someone with a bad hip who can't walk and possibly needs to dose himself up with painkillers to get though a performance it kind of makes sense what he was doing... Avoiding walking as the more walking you do the more it aggravates your sore hip

i don't know if the cart proves anything, he'd been using that since the musicology tour, i just thought it was a way to get around without you crazy fans fucking with him every step of the way. I mean you guys are ridiculous.

--But the cart was brought on to the stage at the begining of the show. No fans on the stage and their were pics of Prince riding in the old people scooter from the Musicolgy tour.

What are you guys talking about? Nobody sang along. You could hear a pin drop while he played. In between songs it was a different story - roaring applause and screams.

Someone who was not at the show is bitching about people having fun.

.....dont tell me youre friends with that satanic witch???

ok.. but why would they for a piano show? doesnt make sense to me

Because Prince wanted us to. Prince always encouraged audience participation, and that was no less true with these concerts. I was at the last two concerts and he definitely encouraged that participation.

--Adrian had already played live with Prince and according to him the tour in the fall would have Prince opening on the piano and then bringing out the band for the second act.

I know. That would have been months after the solo P&M tour and also starting in Australia.
Why Australia twice in one year? Another "why" we can't answer. Maybe because the Aussie fans are awesome biggrin
