Still missing him.....anyone else?

Does anyone else still find themselves missing him, and finding it still hard to believe that he's gone? I know that I do. There are times when I seem fine, but then I think about him, and I think to myself..."I still can't believe he's really gone from this earth". It's makes me so sad, I really do miss him. cry

fuck yea, doesn't really get better, especially all the stories that we hadn't heard over the years of prince being, who knew? a nice guy! those kill me. The org is pretty dead now, I'm wondering how much longer it'll be here though.

understatement...time is truly not a great healer...the pain gets worse. Just grateful for the memories he left us all behind with.

I hate to admit it, but what you said is true. I used to come here a lot more than I do now. I drop in every now and then, when I think about Prince, and want to see if some of you guys have posted anything, or if there's something "new" but it's so sad because I now that there will never be anything "new" from Prince ever again! I hope the org lives on because I do love it, it was the only site about Prince I ever joined, other than the ones he himself created and disassembled. lol

Hopefully soon there will come a day when we come here to discuss all the years of unreleased material Prince's estate will soon offer. What hurts the most is not being able to see him live and leaving with that beautiful feeling of exhilaration and gratitude. I've gone to a lot of concerts this year trying to recapture that feeling but to no avail. It's indescribable sometimes how much I miss him.

I don't think I will ever stop missing him, I can look at a concert video I've seen lots of times before and still sit there thinking how can someone so awe inspiring as Prince no longer be here. I had a surveyor come to my house, he came into the living room and saw my Prince canvas, turned and looked at me and said "we are the lucky ones, we lived in his time"....he was so right.

Yes. He's been on my mind a lot lately. I've been listening to his music and watching interviews on YouTube. Maybe its because the 1-year anniversary is coming up next month.

.
This used to be the only place but now there are innumerable Facebook groups discussing Prince.
.
I actually believe awareness of Prince is again growing but there are now so many social media platforms.
.
On twitter, I discuss politics and P. I'm seeing some of my P posts being shared by political friends. THAT is how we keep the legacy going.
.
This is insular, on the other hand. It's bound to dwindle because it doesn't draw new blood from outside.
.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

You forget something tho', Mr. Silas, sir. Us newbs. Not new to the music exactly, but new to truly understanding. I only really "got" Prince after he died. After I started listening again. I am constantly amazed and often blown away by what I find. Imagine trying to absorb 40 years in one? It almost hurts, but I won't stop until I'm done. (After a year, not even close, but man, I've taken a big bite so far.)

Day after day I'm searching and learning. I come here to learn from all of you. You may not have intended to create a deeply rich archive of his life and work, but here it is. It's my library.

The org is not as insular as y'all think! We're here, we're there on social media. (Fwiw, I hate social media, only doing it for p). I suppose the org will and probably has changed--I'm no one to judge--but its value is real and forever.
And the MUSIC continues...forever...

that's great and i'm glad the old fans can help you guys, us folks who watched from our very disparate vantage points (black/white/rich/poor/ and in my case a native american) as it all went down. I just feel a vibe off the org, i think it may have run it's course. The fans, even when he was alive, were pretty vicious. I can't see fansites like elvis or michael have, prince has some venal fans and the org is already half closed down as far as threads getting shutdown over arguements or banned topics.

Yes...everyday. Some days it hits me more than others. His music can be an amazing solace but also at times can be too difficult to listen to. I am thankful for all that he left us. His music, his spirit, and his amazing imprint on this world are on my mind daily. As I have said before (and I have seen others post as well), his music has been the soundtrack of my life for 35 years...and I assume it will be (God willing) for the next 35 years as well. It is difficult to grieve such a loss since closure is difficult (not like I could go to a ceremony) and those around me do not share in my loss. I am very grateful for the org and my fellow Prince fans... being a part of this great community helps me know that I am not alone in my grief, and it has helped me on my journey of processing my loss (and our loss as a community). It is wonderful to have a place I can "go" where others feel the same way. Time helps in the healing, but I know that April will be hard. However, I also know that this wonderful collective of souls on the org will be here for me (and for all of us) to help us with our grief...

I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Sometimes I find myself praying for him to come back. After he died I graduated high school and started going to a university... And I would redo everything if God gave him back. Sounds dramatic I know but sometimes when it hits me that he's gone I get really sad. So yeah......I miss Prince a lot.

Yes, still miss him and don't see that changing ever. My heart still aches and there is a now familar heaviness since 4/21/16. But the tears dont come as frequently or abundantly. Progress?
