I dont think he was consciously thinking that he was going to Die, rather he was FEELING the time coming and there was a sense of urgency to complete certain things....

Which might explain why he started writing his memoir.

I think though, this is called 'the mid life crisis' that most men go through

Prince was at the right age for it.

This is also a period where people have to learn how to slow down and enjoy appreciate reflect reconnect with all the good (people things and events) that have occured in their lives.

Some men do this through their lives and live in the moment so don't have the 'midlife' crisis. But a lot of men who are always on the go go go, onto the next thing or next relationship, work work work, tend to be the ones that experience this reality of time and how they are not immortal. Deaths of certain people can kick this into gear too.
