Electric Intercourse seems likely to be on there. |

Definately the most sensible outlook.

I too am not going to get my hopes up too high. Unfortunately,, I think it will just be what's in the film (his songs, God with lyrics, and songs performed by Apollonia 6 and the Time). I don't imagine the unreleased stuff will make the album. I will only get this album is it includes electric intercourse and if I can get it on vinyl for a relatively reasonable price.

Apparently there is, it was confirmed by madhouseman a few years ago on this thread http://prince.org/msg/7/64156

it's on WB, so it will most likely be the original album "remastered", and a bonus CD of b-sides, 12" versions and maybe 1 or 2 unreleased or full length unedited songs
I really can't see that Prince would 'giveway' the unreleased songs from that period. when he faught so hard to get the rights to his masters back. I also think the estate will hold onto as much as possible for future projects.

Stuff like "All Day, All Night" doesn't seem likely. It was recorded in the middle of all the PR promotion. It's an era song, not a PR song specifically, IMO. Let's Go Crazy (Special Dance Mix) Erotic City (longer version) I Would Die 4 U (the whole 30 minutes would be nice, not jus the 10 minute 12" edit) Another Lonely Christmas 17 Days God God (Instrumental)
Electric Intercourse The longer cuts of "Take Me With U", "The Beautiful Ones", "Computer Blue", "Darling Nikki" Wednesday Father's Song
"When Doves Cry" with the original bassline "Baby I'm A Star" demo from a few years prior Vanity 6 version of "Sex Shooter" Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I hope that "G-Spot" is on it.

All of those sound great. I'm really excited about any original material from Prince that was unreleased and can't wait to get my copy of PRD

(1) Electric Intercourse (2) An extended 'Purple Rain' with the additional verse, although most likely not the full unedited track (3) 'God' (Vocal, 7''), Erotic City (7'' edit), 'Another Lonely Christmas' (7'' edit) and 'Special Dance Mix' of LGC, 12'' single version of IWD4U, perhaps also 'God' (Instrumental, 12''). . (1) is a possibility, but nothing more. It would also have been cleaned up and mixed/mastered only recently (past 3 or 4 years), as the track is not believed to have made it very far in the studio reworking process in August/September 1983, before being dropped, so it may not be entirely authentic to its era. . (2) is speculative at best. . Most of (3) is likely, if not certain (possibly add or substitute 'Jungle Love' and/or 'The Bird', 'Sex Shooter' (A6 album version), 'The Glamorous Life' (single mix), or 12" versions of some of the B-Sides). . I strongly doubt there will be any other outtake material, demos or alternate mixes or extended versions of the album tracks included. . There could be something like that 'trial run-through' 'Purple Rain' 1983 rehearsal that has made rounds recently or an early PR piano/instrumental demo, and/or some 'Thriller Special Edition' (2001) associated spoken commentary (Alan/Eric Leeds, W&L, David Z, Magnoli/Cavallo/Ruffalo/Fargoli, etc), some kind of modern or stripped recent interpretation of 'Purple Rain' or a medley of some of the songs from the album/fillm, etc., but I'd not expect it. . Within the remotest realm of possibility, although still almost certain not to occur, the ~8-minute edit of 'Computer Blue' (without hallway speech), an early mix of 'When Doves Cry', etc. I wouldn't count on unedited 'The Beautiful Ones', 'Darling Nikki, IWD4U, BIAS, as their excised moments take away from the flow of the album as we know it, and with such a miserly offering of outtake or rare material, are far too inessential to occupy the precious limited space on one or two CDs. . Perhaps have the Joseph E. Ferraro (First Avenue M.C.) intro ('Please welcome. . .'), excerpted from the film, preceding the 'Let's Go Crazy' (album or 12" version). . 'Possessed' (1983) is too weak an outtake, and belongs more properly to a period wedged between 1999 and PR. He loved the song dearly, but I can't see that making this release. If WB are going to be loose in their selection of material, they will most likely use the running time for the A6/Time songs from the film. The obscenity of certain of its verses, use of 'Negro' in the lyrics, etc., would make it an unlikely candidate as well. The 1984 instrumental, of which there is said to be an uncirculating vocal version, is too long, repetitive and weird to make it to one of the first major posthumous releases, and of his most commercially important album and released by WB and assembled under 2013/2014-era P's aegis at that. . They're going to be adopting a very conservative and parsimonious approach to this 'Deluxe Edition'. . Have we been authoritatively told that this is going to be a two-disc release? Could they coldly deliver an 80/81 minute single disc with 'remastered' sound (replace LGC with its 12" mix), with two or three B-Sides and an outtake? Could there possibly be single- and [collector's] two-disc deluxe releases at different price points?

I think it'll be an expanded version of the soundtrack to include the B-sides, The Time tunes, the Apollonia 6 tunes, Modernaire (maybe), and then a few other tunes actually considered and not used, like Wednesday and a standalone Father's Song. I would hope for other outtakes from that period to be on there, but I doubt they will. Listen2Prince !!
U can listen to a different Prince project every week for a year! Sometimes U might have to double (or triple) up on related albums to make it fit, tho. https://listen2prince.blogspot.com/

I'll be so pissed if Possessed isn't on there. One of my favourite outtakes ever.

I'm happy with them not issuing the original album at all. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

I'd be annoyed if Modernaire was'nt included, that track always flies under the radar. Hope the CD booklet has some good photos of The Revolution, A6, Jill & The Time in it. A purple disc would be the icing on the cake.
