That was moving and got me teary eyed at the end.

I kept it together until the end. I wanted to hug Tyka so badly but we did it Purple Army! We Love you Prince so much and you deserved this award

I just watched Tyka accept the award on behalf of Prince. The tears are flowing again- but they are tears of happiness. Happiness because the world has not forgotten our beloved Prince. What Tyka said, heck, HOW she said it, made my heart ache again. I think she truly loved her brother. Did I hear correctly that this is the third time that Purple Rain has won this award? Wow!

I loved everything she had to say. Very heartfelt and I appreciated how she used Prince's own words in her speech.

I will admit that I'm disappointed that the AMAs didn't doing any sort of special tribute though. I know it's the AMAs but I found that upsetting. I didn't want any artists to sing his songs (as that never works out properly) but some video clips of him performing/speaking would have been much appreciated. Were any of you surprised they didn't do ANYTHING?

I don't mean to hijack the thread. I just was quite upset, though maybe I shouldn't have expected anything to begin with.

^^^^Perhaps Bruno and The Time will perform a Prince Grammy tribute. Especially since Jimmy Jam was working board member at one time.

It sucks living in the UK though as I couldn't see this as it was early hours of the morning over here so I'm having to catch up on Twitter

I think Tyka Nelson did a great job accepting the award on behalf of Prince but I kinda hoped The Revolution had been invited as they were an integral part of this album.

So happy he won - but the tear flowed - so moving

After watching Tyka speak, the realness of the situation becomes so much more painful. Kudos to her for holding it together at the end. Very moving.

How on time were these words with what is going on in the country now? This will be my new FB cover pic. (replacing the "Stop Looking for Credit. We are supposed to take care of each other - PRINCE" one that I'm using now.

No way was our prince not going to win this.We will never let you down prince.

Tyka's remarks were very touching.
