Besides that, another reason that dissenting opinions should not be censored out of existence from a public forum, is because a balanced discussion benefits the greater good, at the end of the day.

People creating all kinds of fantastical supernatural fairytales, is how cults get started. Believing such fairytales is how gullible, highly-suggestible people get brainwashed into joining those cults.

People don't even realize that there are millions of charismatic charlatans out there who prey on gullible, naive people that are prone to magical thinking.

"Faithfully" believing anything and everything these charlatans say — "because it sounds so mystical and spiritual, it must be true" — is how leaders of cults justify everything from sexually abusing children to mass suicide.

I figure that if my questions in my earlier posts, could introduce the concept of critical thinking to just one person, then the biggest harm I would have done is to have prevented at least one person from being taken advantage of.

Disch & PhatPhuk: I think you both totally miss what the original poster "Angellookingdown" was saying. Instead of poking fun of someone who has had a spiritual experience, why don't you try to open your mind and show some respect? She was sharing something which a lot of us think was a very beautiful experience, yet you make fun of that? PhatPhuk was making fun of her, and saying that people who have spiritual experiences are part of some cult and leads to suicide....WTF?? What is going on inside YOUR head?
