i like hearing prince's playing too. the arrangments are nothing special but it's a pleasant listen,imo.

I think it's about them. It also seems like he's commenting on his prior relationship (i.e. with Mani) when he sings the line (not talking rebound born of despair). It seems like Andy inspired him a lot of ways, he seemed really happy when she was around, and they seemed to have a strong bond. In her post following his passing she wrote "you taught me how to love unconditionally without reservations, but also taught me about heartbreak." Something obviously happened and I think the age gap, made them play it coy.

I heard that there were only two pictures out at Paisley Park, one of P's father...in the recording studio, and the other of Andy in the Galaxy Room(shown in other posts on this thread)...no other woman...that's pretty significant I think...I wonder what happened or what went wrong...P seemed really happy around their time together ...but then around the end of 2013(?) and 2014 I didnt see her around the PP scene that much anymore(besides Prince shout-outs to her,promoting her upcoming concerts,tweeting,ect.) I think she was touring(U.S, Europe) and doing her own thing musically, and back in California by 2014,2015, and forward...but I can't help thinking about the other women that P collaborated with after her(some he knew before Andy), I'm not sure if all were romantic but I myself am leaning towards that for some of them,as a few gave strong hints on social media that there was more than friendship...In the later years I'm recalling Lianne La Havas, Lala Escarzega, Danielle,Delilah, Marissa,Kandace(said was just friends but he "tried it") Shameless Mya said she saw many young women around during that 2014 time period, Tamron Hall and then of course Judith Hill...and I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting, and others that we don't know of...We know P loved his women, But with all those other ladies in his life P still kept Andy's photo up in public view, meaning a special place in his heart along with his Dad...Was P still missing her and longing for her after all that time? Why didn't he just call her? (lol)...They were wearing rings in the Black and White picture, I'm guessing if they were engaged at some point? No wonder Andy was heartbroken...P sure knows how to move on(been doing it his whole life...) All those women after they broke up...and having to watch that...I feel for her...she's beautiful, and I wonder what specifically broke them apart or why they never got back together, if she was The One and the Love in his recent years that inspired him like no other did afterwards, and made him light up, like back in 2011-2012...

She was too young and he knew it. Maybe because he loved her he had to let her go, make a name on her own, enjoy her youth. He saw what happened to Mayte, he didn't want Andy to experience that.

Loved the line in Time about playing hard to get "with an animal half my age"...Prince always had a sense of humor about sex.

His demeanor in the YT video of RNRLA seems rather subdued for him as well.

Prince was wearing a braided ring on the Black and White photo with Andy, on his right pinky finger that looks a lot like this one to me....

Andy was also wearing the big chunky diamond ring on the Jimmy Kimmel show in 2012, and since she was wearing that on her left ring finger in the B&W pic with Prince, I was guessing if there was an engagement that the public didn't know about...We'll only find out if Andy writes a song about it...We'll see...! She seems like the total package to me...It's a shame things didn't work out...

That's a good point...but I think she was willing to make it work ,when perhaps P was letting it go...some of the lyrics to her song Don't Ever Say(if it was about Prince,don't know for sure) are pretty moving and sad..."You're giving me the cold shoulder" "Don't go, I pray, don't let it end this way..." "You're making this hard, harder than it needs to be." "Don't ever say, I didn't try" "Starin' down this lonely road,Yellin' out after your ghost, I miss you.".....The last line about yellin after your ghost is really poignant now, after April...

Very good homework! (smiles) I somehow don't think they were "formally engaged", but I do think there was some kind of love understanding between them. I don't find her as sexy as some others he's been with but Prince had his own tastes, and beauty IS in fact in the eye of the beholder with him. He was clearly very taken with her and seemed VERY happy when he was with her. It seemed also like the public left him alone for a while during these years. He might've had a nice break. That's why it feels so sad to me today to realize how he changed so much after that period. We all age but I feel he got so extreme later...I do think there was another gal he dug a lot but don't know what happened with her either. They were all young. I really wish he could've found someone sexy and smart who liked music who was a little older...I wonder if that could've saved him...gave him the hope and willingness to get help sooner than he did. I guess with his lifestyle (touring all the time) it would've been hard for him to be in one place long enough to meet someone.

You have some great insights...I also wish P could've found someone a bit older, perhaps in her 30's or early 40's...sexy(yes!) with the maturity and understanding of his music and touring life..and very spiritual...I feel he was looking for a match intellectually and spiritually and never found her...I'm wondering if that could've helped him as well...It's easy to tell Kirk and Meron to go home, but a bit harder to tell a significant other who's staying with him every night at Paisley Park to go....it's very possible for P to still kick everyone out, but I can't help but think there could've been a better outcome...

I hear you...and I can def. see P giving the cold shoulder too unfortunately...which leaves me wondering since Andy's photo is still up at PP, and no other of his ladies, was she the one that got away? Even if it was his choosing...and if still loved her and missed her so much, why didn't he just give her a call and get back together..? And why all the women after her, if he really just wanted Andy? It would seem quite easy to reach out and rekindle, but I guess complicated at the same time....
