Superconductor is a lovely album. Admittedly, AA hasn't got a big voice but the beauty of the album is that P worked with her voice and provided the right type of songs for it.

From what I could hear of the words, I wondered if it was in connection to Revelation. There is a vid on YT of him singing I love you in me in London, I think it is...well before Andy's time at PP. Guess she is making a statement with her comments and doing it Prince style with the "hold something back" approach.

Per Prince vault,. initial tracking for I love U in me was in 1989 (Arms of Orion) and then re-recorded in 2011-12 with Andy as Oui we can love. I like both versions but think the addition of her vice really adds somehting to it; like their version better.

You're most welcome! I've never seen or heard anything that suggested that Prince co-wrote this particular song with Andy. I do know that he played acoustic on this track for the album. P is supposed to have written Superconductor and The Calm, and he and Andy co-wrote Long Gone. Everything else is credited to AA, so it's interesting that she says that now.

He was not credited on this song in the liner notes when the album came out. History has an interesting way of being rewritten when it suits someone, and the bottom line is that she can say whatever she wants to, just like everybody else, because nobody's here to say otherwise.

I don't believe any of his other proteges was honored in such a way. And don't forget that he would reportedly draw Sharpie hearts on their ring fingers! He even wore one of his graphic shirts with her picture on his chest (commissioned at his request, no doubt). This was yet another first for the Purple Yoda. All things considered, I'd say that Prince was REALLY into Andy.

They also wore TOTALLY KICKY matching outfits, and allegedly, she’s the one who influenced him to wear his hair in a natural afro. They also sang “Let’s Get It On”, in a reasonably sexual manner. Wherever this sits with you, the outfit coordination forever solidifies them as a visually unified music making match in the heavens.

it was obvious to me that prince wrote or co-wrote the entire album. i don't care what she says. andy is talented but not a good enough songwriter to copy his songwriting style and very few of the songs on SC sound like her other work. esp this song. those are prince lyrics- they may have exchanged lines but those are prince words.

same with liv warfield's album. but her album sounds more like her than prince so he probably did 3-4 songs at the most.
