Yea, I read star7777 comment and it does kinda sound like P a little bit.

It could be him. And I read that JW don't really do funerals. Either way everyone was putting P down.

I'm positive that losing both his parents in 6 mos. was horrible for him.

.

I understand why P didn't go. He loved his Mom, and did a lot for her and I'm sure he was with her before she passed, and missed her dearly. Like you said, he lost both his parents in a short amount of time -- we both know how tough that is!!

I posted this on another thread a few days ago and just wanted to re-post and hear any thoughts...I don't know what to make of it but I found it interesting....

I came across this article from April 28th, of an interview with Prince's former audio engineer Robert “Cubby” Colby, who worked for him from 1980-1988...overall it had some good insights into what it was like to be around at that time, Engineering and Recording stories, some funny stories about Prince's sweet tooth with Payday candy bars and how Matt Fink recalled when they took the bullhorn on the airplane and how they got arrested back in the day....Cubby was at the gathering of bandmates, musicians and associates in MN the Sunday after Prince passed, and that Monday he gave this interview...I don't know if he "slipped up" or if it was a mistake, or just speculation...but he mentioned "chemo" and Prince trying to "cure" himself...its at the last few paragraphs of the interview...the interview was done in April before the test results came out in June so Cubby didn't believe the pill stuff at that time...I'm wondering if Cubby got some inside information from friends/family/ other musicians at the gathering and mentioned it, but not realizing he was giving out a clue...or it could be a general comparison of other friends he had which chemo didn't work for them, but a Vegan lifestyle did, but he didn't mean that about Prince...? Not sure what to think, and I don't know about Prince's health either way, but wanted to put the link to the article out there...It's a good and interesting read if you have a few minutes....

“It never felt like going to work. It was always something I looked forward to. Obviously the days were long. But he took such great care of himself. You can’t do the hours that he did … there was no nonsense going on.”

PSN: He was a vegan?

“I think that had a lot to do with him becoming a Jehovah’s Witness. Then the pain and all of that … so many things are coming out; I don’t believe any of it. I think it was the result of no medication, no medicine. He was such a believer that he became a vegan to cure himself. I know close friends [and] that worked for them, when chemo didn’t. He was a really slight guy. Robbie—the guy that used to go ahead to the hotels in every city—he’d get there the day before and get the hotel rooms set up; I never knew Prince carried weights around with him. He was always very fit.

Chemo? We need to verify this. I'm going to call this man at work and see if I can just get a definite "NO" that it was not Warners. I'm sure he can't say if P had cancer or not but maybe he can imply something was going on so it was not Warners poison

.

Olivia: Since you brought up Warner's, I will add this; I read somewhere where WB claims that they even paid for Prince's treatment for dependency. Now, this may all be a pile of BS, which I wouldn't be surprised if it was. It's obvious that WB and TMZ didn't like Prince. Just look how TMZ tore Prince's name to shreds and dragged him through the mud when he died. Oh yea, and let's not forget the National Enquirer, doing that reinactment of Prince dead in the elevator. Sick, sick people they are!!

.

TMZ even poked fun at Prince's death on their TV show. They were all laughing about the cremation.....saying "Purple remains, Purple remains!" Really disgusting people, they are. mad

mad so TMZ was saying " purple remains" ! How disrespectful. They are pathetic and so far beneath Prince.
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Since there was a flu strain going around that tended to turn into pneumonia it is very possible that it was true about him having the flu and pneumonia. I know a few people including myself that had the flu and pneumonia in March. I lost weight because i only wanted fruit really. I could not stop coughing though so to answer your question, I think he would have to take a lot of opioids to control the cough. That's a question for a nurse. Is it possible to control the cough ? Pneumonia just last so long and I know he would want to finish his tour .

It's possible to control the cough, but I would have to say, as a nure, that the singing P did during that time surely would've been impaired in some way and/or would've produced some breakthrough coughing at some point and I haven't even heard P clear his throat while singing in any of the P&M performances I've listened to from the earliest ones in 2014 to the last shows in Atlanta 2016.

It's flawless and mindbogglig.

Also, as I re-listen to Art Official Age, the goodbye just slaps me right in the face.

I agree with you on AOA. Why would his sister call his memorial service "Way Back Home?" Coincidence or by his directive?

Wow! Very interesting article. I've never seen that one before. The comment he made about "chemo" really makes you wonder. eek

.

He said a lot of nice things about Prince and the part about the "Pay Day" candy bar.......No, that's on Friday, LMAO!! lol

I agree..! I wonder too about the chemo comment...maybe it's a clue and he slipped up by saying it...I was thinking that Cubby meant that if P had a cancer diagnosis, then he was trying to cure it by being a Vegan and using natural methods..instead of him taking chemo...and that it helped for some of Cubby's close friends who tried the same thing when the chemo didn't work for them...I was thinking more of how Suzanne Somers did with her cancer battle, and healthy lifestyle...I'm assuming that in time something may come out...I loved the story about the PayDay candy too! smile Our P was so hilarious...! wink

I read that and thought the same thing but then I reduced it to P was trying to find other ways to battle hip problems with his diet and possibly Holistic treatment much like Cubby's friends had done rather that chemo.

Yes, had to read this a couple of times...you're right it was in reference to Cubbys friends.

They were all laughing about the cremation.....saying "Purple remains, Purple remains!" Really disgusting people, they are. mad

Oh I bet WB paid for that final pill...I mean treatment.

Olivia, I agree the flu was horrible in 2015-2016 I know younger people (20's) that got it and it took 6+ months to get over it!
Being he traveled that is very likely. Plus that is what Prince was saying he had.
I have no reason to not believe him...

I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

Wow! Very interesting article. I've never seen that one before. The comment he made about "chemo" really makes you wonder. eek

.

He said a lot of nice things about Prince and the part about the "Pay Day" candy bar.......No, that's on Friday, LMAO!! lol

I agree..! I wonder too about the chemo comment...maybe it's a clue and he slipped up by saying it...I was thinking that Cubby meant that if P had a cancer diagnosis, then he was trying to cure it by being a Vegan and using natural methods..instead of him taking chemo...and that it helped for some of Cubby's close friends who tried the same thing when the chemo didn't work for them...I was thinking more of how Suzanne Somers did with her cancer battle, and healthy lifestyle...I'm assuming that in time something may come out...I loved the story about the PayDay candy too! smile Our P was so hilarious...! wink

.

Yea, I thought the same about the "chemo" comment. I wouldn't think that someone would elect to have chemo treatment, if they didn't need it, versus other methods of treating pain, and like you said -- the "natural" way (holistic). I mentioned Susanne Somers here a while back and how she refused chemo. She was one of the lucky ones. God Bless her -- she was very courageous for what she had to go through!

Would lidocaine have been prescribed for throat issues or coughing LBrent? For some reason, I've always thought that the lidocaine in his system was due to his throat problems.

I've never seen it prescribed for that, but I suppose anything is possible.

I think it might be a part of the unauthorized concoction of the bootleg pill though. The bootleggers simply dump a crapton of painkillers into the vast to come up with the "recipe". Could have anything in the batch.

I'd be curious to see what others who died right around the same time from bootleg pills had in their system to compare.

Hmmm. I think zena needs to come to the rescue here. I am not sure if the lidocaine use had anything to do with the non-prescription (illegal) meds or if he had a prescription for that. It's not a narcotic as far as I know so I wonder if it was something that Dr S had prescribed that was filled at Walgreens on the 20th? I know he didn't have any narcotics filled in the state of MN for 12 months prior, but that wouldn't rule lidocaine out. Lidocaine viscous is commonly used for oral and throat diseases and it's also used for dental surgery. Since his cook said he complained about sore throats, it may have been prescribed to help with that.

I had two students that had parents to die from the flu from December 2015- April 2016.

http://www.medicinenet.com/lidocaine_viscous/article.htm For use orally, this one is not a

controlled substance. It is a Class 1B Antiarrhythmic

"Lidocaine" is dispensed as an injection or a topical cream This is not considered a controlled

substance in most states but all is script only.

.

Yea, I heard all about the Chemtrail flu.

.

Don't forget, Prince had a history of seizures as a child, and maybe he started having them again.

.

Prince also suffered from heart palpitations, which are very scary.

.

He could have been having side-effects from medications too.
