The first car Prince bought with record advance I found this auction with a lot of awesome Prince items. . I love that he paid cash for a new Datsun in 1977 with his WB record advance! http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/192/lot/82679/?url=%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F192%2F%3Fpage%3D7 There's lots of great items, rich with history. http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/192 Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

haha OMG! I just looked up that address on Google Earth. It was just a few blocks over from where I lived in Minneapolis on Blaisdell Ave (off 26th). Ironically, both are just a few blocks north of East Lake Street. Go west on Lake, and it turns into West Lake, which is where the NPG store was in Uptown, across from Calhoun Square. The Aldrich address is a block off Hennepin Ave, which runs right through Uptown. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Wow! How much was it? It's too blurry To read.
I forget, is the price even on the title? [Edited 10/10/16 16:23pm]

There was also a four page love letter that he wrote to a young woman named Marianne in 1977 when he was living in LA. According to her she never wrote him back. Even back then he was a player.

Wow! That's so cool. I was wondering about all the cars Prince owned.

Yeah so cool. He probably bought that car because he was tired of Bobby Z taking him around

There you go. His middle name was "Roger" and not "Rogers" that you see reported everywhere. It was "Roger" on his birth certificate too. So unless he changed it after this time period, then that's it.

I had a pale blue Datsun 210! It's too blurry for me to read what color P's car was. Dammit.

FULL TEXT OF LETTER:
Dearest Marianne, Let me start by saying that I hope I spelled your name right. Knowing my luck, I probably didn't. Please forgive me if this is so...I am writing you for a number of reasons...By the time this letter is complete, I think you'll better understand why. I so very much wanted to send you a copy of the photograph I took of you, but if you remember I used a friend's camera and was left without a negative. Anyway, the picture is beautiful...which is the first reason why I write you. You are a very beautiful woman. By now, that must sound very cliche to you, but you must understand, that you have never heard it from my lips before.
PAGE TWO:
I wish that I was there to tell you so, but at the moment, that's impossible, so you just have to listen to the words in your mind, as you read this. Please don't be amazed by my open attitude, it's just that I believe in telling the truth. And to me...you are the truth. Understand? I want you to. I really do want you to understand.
I would have written you sooner. It's just that there really wasn't a need to, because you were here. That may sound crazy to you, but to me, you really were here. I dream about you sometime. Well, I guess I dream about you alot.
PAGE THREE:
I grew wreary of not being able to really tell you how I feel, so I finally decided to write. As you probably gathered, I live a great distance from you. As of right now, I live in Los Angeles. I am going to move soon. Where I haven't decided. I think I would like to live everywhere, before I die. Especially within you. You are probably wondering why I'm so taken by you. If I could answer that I would. I can only tell you that when I first saw you, I had to talk to you and after I talked to you, I wanted to some more. And when I couldn't, I dreamt of you. I guess it's just one of those things.
PAGE FOUR:
From reading my writing, you might think I'm desperate. But please understand I am not writing out of desperation, but out of admiration . For you. I admire the power you have for possessing my thoughts in a way that appears so easy. I only wish that I had that same power over you. I would so love to have a place in your mind. If only a small place. I could never, ever hurt you in any kind of way, whatsoever. For it would hurt me, too. I'll only do what you want me to, and never ask for more.
PAGE FIVE:
I hope very much that you will write me back. If only a few lines. It would make me very happy. I will call you if you want me to. I will even come to see you or fly you out to see me. But only if you really want me to. Please believe me. Please. If you find it hard to understand read this letter again and again until it's more clear to you. I have to go now. Please write me. Je Taime Beaucoup, Prince

Je Taime Beaucoup, Prince How could she not write him back?! Wow. But she saved the letter. Makes no sense. Man he was deep for such a young 'un, and obviously quite smitten. Poor P. Rejected after spilling his heart and soul. What a cold-hearted wench. Lol It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

. Yea, there was a big discussion here a while back about his correct name/spelling. Yes, his name was "Roger" on his BC. I think the "Rogers" came from his Dad who had the band "The Rogers Trio", or something like that. I sometimes think that Prince just enjoyed playing with us!!
