I get the feeling Sheila and Londell are not best buds. When PP was on an initial list of property to possibly be sold Londell tweeted something about not to worry PP isn't going anywhere. Sheila responded to his tweet. I don't remember exactly what she said but it sounded like she offered some services and was rebuffed? Of course who knows what to think. I do believe Sheila's emotions are real and P's death hit her hard. I don't think she's faking that at all but I'm not crazy about her using P's love symbol to sell t-shirts and were it not for her association with P would anyone really care about seeing her in concert? In some ways it does seem like she's milking his death for her own personal gain.

I remember her tweet & your guess is correct, she is trying to insert herself. If it wasn't for how quick she was to speak to the media & sell the symbol as if it was her own I might give a ish about her but I agree with everything you've said (including that she's hurt).

If the Oct 13 concert is not Sheila, The Time, Mazarati, The Family, Carmen Electra, Tevin Campbell, Taja Seville, Chaka Khan, Larry Graham, Judith Hill, Andy Allo, Liv Warfield, NPG, Revolution, Madhouse, etc.....We should all as fans boycot. I have no desire to see non Prince artists perform his music. It should be an open concert for those who worked with him and who want to perform.

I would feel terrible for fams spending so much money to get to Minneapolis - planes, hotels, cars - only to have the concert still not in place.

I think this is the heart of the matter: those who want to perform. By the way, I want to see Prince associates and protΓ©gΓ©s, as well, but I'd not be against a few non-Prince artists.

if this whole concert dies...they better do something for the fans they led on... At this point a night at PP or even getting Target Center, just get big screens and play Prince concerts. The bottom line is we all just want to celebrate........TOGETHER

Charge $19.99 and call it a day....I don't think this stadium thing is happening either. Now Morris is performing in Maryland on the 14th too. Its all weird.

Actually, no!

That is not what it should be because based on that criteria, you are talking about and asking for what equates to a damn three ring circus. IJS!

yeahthat I'm having those same thoughts, YaThink. One of the same "experts" who advised Prince for many, many years, only to have his estate left in total disarray, is now the face of the monetization effort for P's estate. And, now, this announced tribute concert is starting to look like it might not happen. Or, if it does become a reality, for now, it is pretty haphazard. Yet, this "expert" is a very respected industry lawyer who runs his own conglomerate. It really makes you wonder about the motives and loyalty of this "expert." And before anyone accuses me of being negative, I'm just saying... hmmm

I see that Morris Day & The Time are performing in Maryland on Oct 14. If we don't hear news by Monday I'm going to assume this tribute isn't happening. Either they couldn't come to an agreement with US Bank Stadium or they couldn't get the performers they wanted. Something clearly went wrong.

It sure seems that way. I think Sheila wanted to be in charge of the official tribute, and maybe even Prince's overall legacy. From the beginning, she made that plain in a plethora of TV appearances. Now, since that did not happen, it seems (to me) that she is playing HARDBALL...AND swinging well-aimed punches, wearing BRASS KNUCKLES. I mean, this Cleveland tribute concert, two days after the still unconfirmed Oct. 13 U. S. Bank Stadium tribute--for which she is conveniently unavailable--is as GANGSTA a move as I have ever seen. OAN, all the while, she is selling a BOATLOAD of Prince memorial t-shirts. SHEILA E. AIN'T NO JOKE. OKAY??!!??

I would hope everybody will keep their egos or how they want things, out of it - and think about what's best for Prince's legacy including the estate and future of PP.
If there's a good reason for her to be playing hardball (if that's what she's doing), then it's fine.

Exactly who I want to see as a prince Tribute, and more. Wouldn't it be great if Mayte, Cat, Misty Copeland, third eye girl and everyone performed?

As with anything else, it's about what the people want. A few non-p artists I guess might be ok - but why? That opens up a while other can of worms.

I am really disappointed in the estate for dropping the ball on this and it does NOT look good, esp for starters! But I also understand they've been working hard on opening PP

Not being negative when you're simply exposing the truth. This is a mess and the only people getting rich are the lawyers. People who know about the legal system and/or P.R. business know that every time these "experts" speak, tweet, send out a press release or dispute a rumor-it is billable. I am quite surprised at how quickly certain P. fans are to defend the "experts." IMHO information from anyone making a dime off the estate is suspect.

The Target Center is already booked on 10/13 so that's out. I am very interested in how this will be handled. Is this the "estate"-meaning the heirs, the Trust or the "experts" hired to handle the music business matters that have created this mess. Personally, I think the family and the "experts" are no longer interested in having a big tribute concert because it's really already happened. It was last weekend at First Avenue. Every body was there and the family had there 15 minutes in the spolight, as did the "expert" They've had their tribute and its becoming increasingly obvious they don't really care about those fans outside of the area- that is until they need us to buy new released recordings.

See a lot of that on Twitter, all this "don't blame Londell" or don't question him yet he is the one who seems to have made himself a spokesperson for the estate with all his tweets so it's only natural that people will assume he is running the show or want to direct questions to him. After all, as I saw from the screen shot in this thread he's the one who advised fans to start making arrangements for the gig & that was the end of July.

Also I had to side eye Londell when I saw his twitter profile pic of him & P - it looks like someone who got their friend to take a pic as he ran over & stood next to Prince lol I wonder if they were friends in the end?

I'm not sure of P and Londell's relationship during his final years. Perhaps someone in-the-know can speak to that question.

I am researching this and from all I can find thus far is that the business relationship ended in 2004. It has been said that LM was fired, but I have not yet been able to confirm that.

I wouldn't mind a tribute with The Time and Shelia E. I think it would be nice.

You have to understand, people are going to give their tributes based on the kind of relationship they had with Prince AND who they had relationships with.

So maybe Shelia and The Time doesn't have those kinds of relationships with all of Prince's bandmembers to have a full blown out tribute that so many hardcore orgers want.

I say, let them be. I bet it would be a good show!

Am I the only fan who doesn't really care about these tributes? It's just not a big deal to me shrug None of these tributes are gonna bring Prince back.I can celebrate, reminisce and enjoy his music on my own, without hearing others perform these songs. If it happens,fine....if not, life goes on.

Wouldn't it be both shocking and a dream come true if they would announce within the next few days that the memorial tribute on Oct. 13th will also be simulcast worldwide via pay per view & at selected movie theaters and would feature the following lineup?

-The expanded version of The Revolution including Eric Leeds, Susannah, etc.

-Various New Power Generation band members

-Third Eye Girl

-The Lovesexy band (Hopefully, with Sheila E...)

-Prince's family sharing stories about Prince

-Screenings of Prince performances from all eras throughout the tribute

-The original members of The Time

-Jill Jones

-Apollonia 6

-Martika

-Dance set by Mayte, Cat, Misty, The Twinz, Diamond & Pearl

-Ben, the founder of Prince.org

-Mavis Staples

-Sheena Easton

-Mint Condition

-Taja Sevelle

-Andre Cymone

-Dale

-The Joffrey Ballet performing selections from "Billboards"

-FDeluxe

If this were to happen, it would be a beautiful memorial tribute for our beloved Prince...
