Awww I love the grocery list. The Five Alive sets the stage and it made me want Strawberries & Crepes even though I've never had them. There are list lovers out there. Lots of great list art that is intentional to, in museums.

Brand new boogie without the hero.

Is this just a straight falsehood or does she not understand what the real record actually is? I don't think 'Camille' was actually ever mastered or printed to vinyl. So what is this thing she is listing? A copy of Scarlet Pussy?

Amazing item. A collectors dream. Of course it'll be overlooked by most people on this thread who would rather be bitching about the ethics of the sale.

I don't know--we were asked whether anyone had a problem with it.

I do. I don't have it. sad

Someone dying also reminds U that death will pay a visit 2 u as well, and unless U R really old, it could be anytime. What happens when she dies 'next year' and all that stuff is found in her house?

My main thought for some of it was why isn't she passing it back to the estate? Y'know where they are opening a museum in about a month?

They could bid on it. That is, if they don't already have equally interesting stuff. I'm sure there were some grocery lists laying around (I found around 7 of them cleaning my place this weekend), and all sorts of memos... maybe, just maybe, a copy of Camille laying around somewhere.

Actually, they probably should bid on that doll. That might be unique.

It's a promo copy of the album. You can read the last two titles on Side 1: Strange Relationship followed by Feel U Up. Makes you wonder they don't know what they trully have since it's buried in the photo and listing although they do label it as unreleased.

Who knows... but isn't it just possible that she actually does know what she's talking about? True, I never saw anything where anyone said "And then Prince handed me the Camille LP"--but I don't know exactly how far things got on the project, and I consider it possible that his personal assistant might have some information I don't (I didn't know he ever wrote the words "Five Alive," for example). Did Camille get further than just a list of songs (I assume it actually did, even if we don't have that circulating) and if it did, wouldn't a tape of the full thing as sequenced (even premastering) be better than we have now? It certainly would be better than what I have.

And you can see the first few letters of Rebirth Of The Flesh and Housequake.

I wonder what the copyright issues would be for some of this...like the unreleased "Camille"?

Just curious. I really don't know.

.

Zero. Tapes of unreleased stuff get sold regularly, you just can't exploit those commercially (i.e. you cannot rip that Camille album and sell those recordings).

.

A catalogue number was (alledgedly?) assigned, so I'd say it went pretty far. Also:

.

It was planned for release by Warner Bros. in January 1987 (to be preceded by a single of Shockadelica).

.

And also:

.

After a month of furious writing & recording, Prince officially finished the Camille album on November 5th, sequenced into the following order – Side one: Rebirth Of The Flesh; Housequake; Strange Relationship & Feel U Up. Side two: Shockadelica; Good Love; If I Was Your Girlfriend & Rockhard In A Funky Place. A test pressing was made of both the album and a single [Shockadelica b/w Housequake] and an official release scheduled, with a Warner Bros catalogue number, for January 1987.

.

See also.

He did have those stuff

I wouldn't mind having it...

Nothing says Prince ever had that thing, or even that he was aware of it. From the auction description:

"Unique voodoo doll of Prince made for his assistant Karen Krattinger by the Paisley Park Records wardrobe department after she left the organization in early 1989."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she left PP on the best of terms. There's a friggin' pin holder with the damn thing. That's just sick.

You're overreacting just a little bit, no?

I think it's pretty cool.

All I can think of about the doll is that Prince was a real taskmaster, and the costume department went through it as well. They knew how demanding he could be, and I am sure the employees shared (or commiserated) when he was rough. Hence, the doll to get back at him. He was THE BOSS, and he honestly IMO didn't care if people liked him or not. He just wanted the work to get done and to get done properly.

Right. Because no museum is complete without Prince's grocery list.

Some of y'all are just ridiculous.

No, you are ridiculous because you think we are only discussing the grocery list. Other items are being auctioned.

how do U read stolen and drama into this?

She was Prince's assistant, she probably had 1000s of notes and stuff from there time

And if you've seen Karens FB she has definately moved on, all over the world, and is enjoying it...

-- It is my opinion. I don't see much of a glimps of anything but an ex employee trying to make a buck off of his death. She was also in a documentary on the BBC going on about his money and was interviewed after his death. You need to drawers in a bunch everytime one of the associates is critized.

not criticized, that is just creating drama out of no where lol

Part of me thinks that Prince didnt leave a will demonstrating exactly how unconcerned he was with 'stuff' after his passing.

Maybe we should let go of caring about the stuff now....

The t-shirt thing seems creepy and weird to me by Susannah and Sheila - and I think though people have right to do with their existing stuff whatever they want...Prince is no longer defined by his stuff...he's beyond that now...

And the fact that there are those who were close to him that NOW are making products and sellin them kind of shows why he excised people from his circle over time.

Everyones colors are just alllll out there now - I'm a Sheila fan and that tshirt thing is :shudder: like, no.

Not The Revolution but specifically "the NEW Revolution"

At first I took it as the New Revolution rehearsals...like maybe a few days before there was a somewhat different call sheet. But if that were the case it seems it would mention the prior one with directions to disregard it.

Isnt it possible Prince gave it to her as a joke gift? Or that she had it made as a joke and he knew all about it...
