NEW LEAK: "Emotional Pump" (1986) It's out there. Prince wrote it for Joni Mitchell in 1986. [Edited 9/4/16 2:24am] Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Can't find it! but having heard genius like train, mia bocca, alexa de paris, I want to find anything out there?!! The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Emotional Dump, Prince 4Ever.

Why has this always been described as a ballad? It's more funk orientated. Reminded me of "Wonderful Ass" meets an outtake for The Family album... Along that line.

She also said that where she liked his music she just didn't feel it with this track and so never cut it. Maybe Prince did a version himself?

Are you fucking kidding me? It's leaked? What kind of moron would say such a thing in the face of definitive evidence? Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Actually I think it does. Doesn't sound like it was recorded in 86. Could he have re-recorded it around 90-91? The wooh is on the one!

If anything, it sounds like a cousin to 100MPH. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Love it...sounds like Revolution in full flow. Can see why Bonnie Rait rejected it though! I got my listen from the Questloves 1st avenue DJ set on periscope broadcast. How has he got these!

Would be great if "Screams of passion"(full Prince demo studio version) recently played by Queslove at a party could be leaked too? [Edited 9/4/16 4:35am]

Emotional Pump reminds me of 100 MPH mixed with the 1987 version of Wouldn't U Love 2 Love Me".
I've found an 11 minute clip of Questlove's DJ set and between the 8:08 mark and the 8:24 mark (right after Wouldn't U Love 2 Love Me and right before Black Sweat) he plays a snippet of the drum beat from an unreleased version of "The Dance Electric". It quite possibly may be the dub version that Neversin mentioned in his "broken faucets" thread last year.

none of the harmonic or rhythmic or melodic elements nor the form or the tempo have anything in common with "daddy pop", sorry. but of course - you can hear and compare whatever you want to.
also : how much linndrum is there on the diamonds and pearls album? none.
this track has 1986 ALL OVER its face.

I like what I heard but such a shame it's only a PA recording of it.
Is the full version not from PA out there to? [Edited 9/4/16 4:53am]

Someone also posted a clip of "Come Elektra Tuesday" and Prince's version of "Come Home", the song he gave to Mavis Staples. These songs were played at First Avenue as well. "Come Elektra Tuesday" has that Parade sound all over it and I cannot see why it wasn't released!
