I thought he bulldozed the house to avoid paying taxes. During the days of the NPG Music Club, one of the PP's (I assumed it was Prince) posted a thread about having a nice peice of property and having to pay a lot of taxes because there is a house (or something to that effect). Later we learned that the house was bulldozed. I remember NPGMC members making fun that Prince was using the website to complalin about his taxes. --- It was a rumor may not be true and yes the property taxes would be less if the houses were gone. He had complained about property taxes in the media before and tried to have the assessment lowered. He was about keeping cash in his pocket and I believed that is the reason he had so much property.

I didn't see anything about a deposition, but there are a lot of afidavits and other stuff. Go to the Civil, Family, Probate link and do a party search for Nelson Manuela: http://pa.courts.state.mn...ault.aspx. Going to this website I found out that my nephew, currently in college, was charged with a misdemeanor for drug paraphernalia back in May. Oh snap!!!! That's a messed up way to find that information out

Maybe. I never looked at the divorce file before because I thought it was sealed. I didnt know you could see the docket and activity. In my city, sealed means you cant even see the docket. Something was going on for several years after the divorce. I didnt realize the divorce case went on so long. She filed a Motion for Temporary Relief along with Affidavits. A negative narrative can be contained in her affidavit. Who knows? I mean we know what he passed away from, how much worse can that get? - What does temporary relief mean? Was she seeking money or do you think she meant like a restraining order even though the story is he abandoned her. I think that would likely be her asking for monetary help in the interim (temporary) because they were not thru with the divorce yet

Makes sense, since your property taxes change with the types of home improvements. I wasn't thinking. Imma go back and daydream about the house in Turks & Caicos, since my brain is gone on vacation anyway.

It looks like there was a pre-trial hearing that was canceled? I have experience in litigation but not family law but usually you don't do anything concerning "trials" without a request for a trial, right? It just seems like this wasn't as quick and easy and we origially thought... Swear you don't miss the organ grinder grinding on you every day.

It's tempting, isn't it. We have one of these sites in my state (not all states have them). Hard not to put in a name or two just to see what turns up.

In divorce cases the Judge will set it for trial just to light the fire under everyone so it doesnt drag out. If you dont give attorneys trial dates the case will go by the wayside, and then they will be scrambling at the last minute, right?

I'm relatively new to the Org so PLEASE don't kill me for asking this question. I have always assumed that Mani and Mayte signed prenups and got NOTHING - is that not the case? Since Prince hated being taken advantage of financially, I can see him bulldozing the house out of anger or dragging out the final settlement with either of his exes. Just speculating......but would love to know if their was a financial settlement for the exes. Especially for Mayte, that girl danced her tail off for years (even if she was lucky to get the job).

They both got something, but I don't know what. I always believed through rumor it was between 2-3 mil but I heard so many different amounts until I'm not sure anymore.

Wow!! That sounds doable for P. I had just assumed he dug in his "heels" and fought it through lawyers until the girls cried Uncle. Hope that figure is right. Both wives surely worked hard to keep up with him and keep him happy. Our beautiful Prince was complex, demanding and a genius. Like someone said, he was like being in love with Picasso. Only, much more beautiful.

. Sure. I am not angry. I am angry with the lack of energy, lack of focus, lack of speed. Not just here, but in general. . Wouldn't the heirs not have a case against a person that delivered the pills to mr Prince? Thus in my opinion the news is fairly relevant. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Are u that freakin' desperate for attention? There's a thread going for all the pill stuff, use it.

. Are you reding what I wrote? This is a situation in the US. They are very sue-happy in the US. Money is involved here. Possible culpability is a game changer here. Thus the heirs and others might (!) have a claim against a person that was involved. .

Nope. Don't care. It's not about the Estate.

So the judge has ordered that Ms. Boyd must stop making demands to the estate with the exception of appeals, that was interesting. Also, Carlin Q has requested an alternate DNA testing. I wonder why Carlin Q wants alternate testing? The Judge gave a deadline to have the testing done, Sept 14, and the choice of facility has to be done by Aug 31.

The two nefarious litigants wont give up. The Judge has had enough of Claire. Carlin and his dubious attorney dont like the DNA results and want another stab at it. I am surprised the Judge is allowing this when they had a qualified facility to complete the first DNA testing.

Thanks to you and Morningstar for your insight and thoughts. I was suprised too by the Judge allowing the second testing. Perhaps the Judge thinks it is not going to change anything, Carlin's loss of time and expense? Dixon and Boyd have worn the patience of the Judge and Bremer I am sure. Any word on a possible ruling of the DNA testing on the siblings and Duane's kin? We are at 4 months, when do you expect the inventory to be submitted?

Udo is correct in that Prince's personal representative (Tyka, perhaps) could bring a wrongful death claim against the supplier of the drugs that killed him. Finding the person(s) is another matter.

Claire has been forbidden from filing anymore claims with the court until she can provide a marriage license and/or will.

A wrongful death claim is a civil action. If damages are awarded, the proceeds are a part of the decedent's estate.

I am sure those two have their test already and I will not be surprised if they are not related to the Nelsons. I believe all the testing has been done and we will know something soon. Of course we do know about the work product from the divorce or if he had trust.
