Protesting Channhassen City Council

[b]. For those of you who purchased non refundable airline tickets ( like me) to go to Paisley Park this weekend, all we can do now is start a protest
at the city of Channhassen town council. Paisley Park will not open for a museum this weekend ! I actually spoke with one of the council members ! His personal phone number is on the city's website!!!! It's only 4 council members and the mayor. One council member and the mayor were all for the opening. Council members Dan Campion, Elise Ryan, and Bethany Tjornhon voted against the opening. Let me know if you would like to protest with me. mad mad mad email the whole board at council@ci.chanhassen.mn.us. Call the mayor (612)327-6800 neutral
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

It's a bunch of BS! The Estate wouldn't have moved forward if it wasn't led to believe that the council woud approve it.

It's a kick to the teeth for all the Prince fans and to Prince who did so much for that community.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

The Chanhassen council voted to table the rezoning request - pending further review of traffic and other issues.

"Led to believe" is not how proper business is done. The Estate should not have moved forward until AFTER all necessary agreements were secured and binding. All I know is they better be damn happy my husband was able to convince me to wait until after the holidays to go. Otherwise, I swear there would be hell, highwater and ME to pay right about now! disbelief

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

StopIt

Protest What?!

The amount of hours being billed by legal and estate folks for intentionally generating emergency problems and more "work" furthers publicity and demand. Check.

By design, less money remains for the folks asserting themselves as "heirs". Check.

No City Council, its procedures, nor its discretion are unexpected or sophisticated at all.

It has ALWAYS been known that the local area and authorities preferred the privacy and non-commercialization of the properties and events w/in its authority.

Someone will publicly post while wearing their synthetic pajamas and watching t.v., how hard they are all working to make something happen for the fans.

Let it go.

Really? Do you have a ballpark figure on that? Is there an itemized list of details that we can go over, as you did? I'd love to see it. I'm sure we all would. Are we talking $100K? Closer to $250K? What's the number? How much of Prince's estate money did you realize was wasted? Curious minds want to know!

Well, if they don't refund, the estate will be up on the whole deal.

Besides, you previously wanted the fans to pay the estate bills, so now you got it. win win isn't it?

So what people have already spent money on this and many will not be able to get their money back so they have nothing to lose.

I'm saying that PP is the ones to contact. Unless you're eligible to vote in Chanhassen, what on earth makes you think the mayor/coucnil would care how upset you are?

the Paisley Park ticket money spent is not the huge loss. The money spent on flight, hotel, rental care , are non refundable at this point. I booked my trip for this Thursday. I can't believe you people on here who think this is funny , two of you in particular who are always bringing negative feedback anyway, you two miserable ugly hags

I don't think it's funny, but I also find it totally predictable. Prince's business dealings have been a shambles for 20 years (oh, I think I just found your Crystal Ball order on this post-it note!), and many of the same people remain involved.

I think no matter where you live the city council should at least listen. This isn't only affecting PP, but also the local hotels and the local restaurants. After all, there are going to be a lot of people coming from out of town that $$ will be spent.

Whoa hey that's not nice - I didn't say anything negative! I'd be pissed if I was you. Hell, I'm not you and I'm *still* pissed!

.

Edit: Also - I think I'm *beautiful* - just an FYI!!!

City Council better figure something out quick because there will be over 18,000 people going to the tribute concert on the 13th. Some of those fans may descend on the City Council steps for this bad decision.

I really hope it works out for people, as I've said in every thread. I have a gut feel it will.

But....newsflash....someone having an opposite opinion to how it should be handled in not negative, it called opinion. Starting multiple threads, answering your own posts (which is against forum rules) and trying to incite some uprising to the council could have far greater long term damage to the relationships between the council, estate and fans.

The pitchfork approach gets limited response and certainly doesn't improve relationships.

Every CC is beholden to their constituents not to occasional tourist.

But I'm sure they are taking a lot of thing into account as we speak.

OMG Who told PP management to sell tickets, that it was a "done deal?" Please let me know! You don't proceed until the legalities are out of the way. I hope there is some type of temporary allowance for tours to commence, but protesting in Chanhassen is the LAST thing Prince would have wanted.

The zoning should have been taken care a long time before announcing PP would be open to the public. This is fundamental. Give them some time to make sure everything is done in an orderly fashion and the visit should be much more pleasant. I do feel sorry for the folks that have already bought tickets and planned to travel.
