That's pretty narrow-minded. You can be friends with people who don't love Prince. He's an incredible artist, but he shouldn't define your whole world like that, in my opinion.

I agree. It's very romanticized to wave one's purple flag and declare only Prince fans can be friends, but in reality, one is doing themselves a great disservice that way. If Prince had only let people into his band that loved Sly and James Brown and Santana, what would Prince's music have become? Had Wendy not showed him different Beatles songs, or Lisa not shown him whatever, etc., would Prince be someone we recognized.

It's a mockery of what Prince stood for, really. Prince was all about inclusion, exploration, and experimenting, and love. To make such a ridiculous statement like "If you don't LOVE Prince I can't be your friend", that's probably not a friend many would want anyway, even if they did love Prince.

It's juvenile, at best.

I don't think you are narrow-minded Lovejunky and I am not offended by what you said. I get what you are saying, you are just feeling a certain kinda way about Prince and the state of his affairs right now. You can say what you want to say on here, just like the others making comments have that right too. I just want you to know I didn't trip on your comment. This whole situation is a trip. I too hope that Paisley Park and Prince's unreleased music is handled with care. I am optimistic.
