lov4u I think we should take matters into our own hands and just plan something on the org or call Spike. Didn't the family already have a memorial? Haven't his friends already had one to?

So if the fan memorial is August 15, whose going?

But Prince didn't like to call us fans!

Must got a whole lotta family I'd imagine coming in from various places, just getting that sorted out is a biggie I'm thinking.

It really is my name in it's simplest form. Not a creative gesture on my part at all, that's my dad's doing.

I love the positve attittudes, to bad they are contagious.

Wow, I can't get over it. I watched my dad take his last breath, unexpetedly, within days of loosing my Prince. I just can't get past it, both of them at the same time. It's just too much. Since April 21st, there hasn't been a moment of piece in my head or a day without tears. I can't get past the image of my beautiful dad taking his last breath, nor can I get pass the thought of my beautiful Prince being in that elevator all alone and needing help and no one was there.

Spike Lee had a block party on Princes birthday in June for us regular folks and it was free. It was mentioned that it was his "annual" party. He may be planning something else, but I haven't heard anything

--/ Well they became official heirs today so that may have freed up cash and maybe allowed them to make cable/T.V deal since I hope the fan part is concert.

FYI: The siblings have not been declared official heirs. Bremer trust merely found that the documentation the siblings submitted was legally sufficient to find they were Prince's legal siblings, and as a result there was no need for DNA testing on them. There has been no cash distributed nor will there be until the Judge signs an Order stating they are heirs and that financial proceeds can be made to heirs. By the way, Im over it too. At least Spike and BET gave him a timely Tribute. So, today's statement in no way comforts me.

Thanks for that because I was wondering if I missed something about them being declared official heris. Anyway, I'm also over it and I feel like the BET tribute was it for me and I'm on to the closure stage.

Always felt the hold up was money issues. What can you do if you can't afford something big like this?

I thank Tyka, and the rest of the family. Yeah, that's my Dad's bday soooo I'm with him. But needless to say, my heart can't take another 'homegoing' for P. It hurts too deep. But blessings to them all. May it be great!!!

laurarichardson, I am soooo with you, but I'll go further...WHO has had this long of a memorial series? Not even Moses (Deut 34:8). 30 days was given to grieve over Moses. How on God's green/blue/purple earth are WE dealing with SO MANY MONTHS of grieving. I will never understand. And I'm totally aware of the diversity of the P community (Christian, Catholic, Protestant, Atheist). Come on...

I was hoping that someone representing Prince.org would reach out to Tyka and ask if there is anything at all that she wants or needs from us as a group on this fansite?

The very first thing that is done when someone passes is to reach out to the family to find out if they need anything but I don't know if that was ever done in this case.
