just heard it - and i liked it A LOT. $dollarshow, shut this down and this could be us. i bet that this is a fraction of probably hundreds of hours of rehearsals. i wonder where this came from, because it`s either recorded with a zoom, but most likely a soundboard recording.

Like it. There was talk of a tour and Judith Hill joining them I recall, just before he went on the piano tour. Sad to think what could have been...

Are they full versions of the songs or just snippets? I was too excited I didn't even read the discussion so far. Sorry if that's been answered. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

More or less full versions but instrumental. Some cool bass work and the drums don't sound too bad considering (no offence Kirk) [Edited 5/24/16 7:51am] [Edited 5/24/16 7:54am]

Oh I know. The backing tapes play the choruses but there's no singing or talking from P.

Listening to this is really bittersweet, I'm not really a fan of the studio versions of these songs but these rehearsals actually sound really good to me, it's interesting that despite the more "modern" production style on HitnRun Part 1 Prince was still exploring the possibility of doing full band versions in a live setting. Alas it's now only a snippet of what might have been, the ebullience of the guitar riff in this rendition of Million $ Show is almost making me well up all over again Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

love the album but wasn't sure that these would translate well live. They really do though. Such a shame we'll never get to see Prince performing these. RIP

Must be around the time he played a bunch of these HNR1 songs for Madonna at Paisley. Sounds cool. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."
