AMAZING!!! Still got that feeling hearing newly released songs. The kid still delivers.

Listening to these made me incredibly sad all over again - just great to hear him with some fantastic new band member reinvigorating songs from a recent album (not the hits). Has made me feel the loss - and the loss of what could have been - all over again.

And listening to this, it's very difficult to square with the "he knew his time was coming" theories.... I mean - why would he bother?

I can't wait to hear these! The way people are describing them surely sounds amazing.

Yes, they're great. Its funny near the end of Stare someone plays a snippet of James Bond and they all laugh. I'd have loved a show with this band playing these newish songs..Let's hope there's more of this to come

Mononeon has stated 'Black is the New Black' is the title of the album they were working on with Prince. All the basic tracks were recorded.

Definitely sounds like Prince playing the bass on the solo.....I don't think that is mono. Notice another bass in the background as this solo is being played.

Hm.. not sure.. But I think it's all Mono. He's just so damn good he's able to suggest the basic bass line while he's soloing at the same time. On Stare I think we have Prince on electric piano for the first half of the song. After the drum solo he picks up the guitar. The bluesy wah wah solo ending with the James Bond Theme is Prince I believe. The ending solo as well.

These are great, but definitely taking me to a place I don't want to be. These recordings simply remind me that we will never, ever hear anything like this again. I can't look forward to hearing these sounds live. The components are there, but the engine that drives all of that sound is gone.
