Does the family care?

I know what this question looks like, but considering the silence and the way they treated Prince, it seems like they just don't care anymore. Thinking of Tyka's response at the gathering a few days after - she seemed really non-chalant. It seems like she was only reacting because it was expected and now it seems like they're just over it. It's odd. Do they just want nothing to do with him anymore?

I can't even imagine the grief Tyka is going through. She owes nothing to Princes fans. Let her grieve for her brother, im glad the family aren't creating a puppy show for everyone to see. Allow them to grieve.

Prince's death hit them very hard, as it did us. They care very much about Prince and always will, because he is a part of their family. Silence does not mean they don't care, it just means that while they are grieving, they choose not to speak or participate in things regarding him right now. Because as Tyka said, "she only wanted to do this once." In regards to saying goodbye to her big brother. Now in time, when their grief has begun to subside, and she and the family are doing well, perhaps they will speak about how they are feeling. And I don't doubt that they will participate in August with the memorial they are planning.

These last two months have been very hard, and they are trying to do everything they can in dealing with their grief, and we need to give them this time. Tyka may have been nonchalant at the gathering a few days later, because she was trying to be as strong as possible, so as not to show her outward feelings, however, that does not mean she and the rest of the family don't love him any less, because they love him very much. This has just been very hard on them.

Not all families are close and there's no law that says they have to be. Prince left home at 12 or 13 so he didn't even grow up with some of his siblings much and his half brothers nad sisters probably not at all.

.

And you know some of them were hitting him for cash and that doesn't exactly endear you to someone either. I don't know a thing about Tyka, but just speaking generally.

.

But don't assume that all of them are grieving over Prince. Some of them didn't even know him.

When my grandmother passed I clammed up. I stopped speaking to all my friends. I deleted all my social media. I just wanted to be left alone. Looking back 6 years on I can't even remember most of that time. I blocked it out. I wouldn't even imagine what it would be like to have to update the press every few days just to make a few people happy. People grieve in so many ways.

I'm going to say this again, respectfully - but no one owes you (corporate you to anyone reading, not you specifically AnonymousFan) anything with this. Tyka can choose to do whatever she wishes with her brother's estate, ashes, or any blade of grass at Paisley Park, if she wants. Why would anyone assume "they just don't care anymore"? That's conjecture, at best. None of us are in the meeting with Tyka & her lawyer, and the half-siblings all of which have a lawyer, and the Trust, and Koppleman, and McMillian. NO ONE.

What do people want? Do people want her to give weekly press conferences with the goings on? Ain't gonna happen. Tyka doesn't owe everyone an update on everything, nor is it anyone's business. We want Prince music, a Graceland, or whatever. She just wants her brother back. It's like Janet after MJ passed, "To you he was an icon, to us he was family". For anyone to read into Tyka's actions as nonchalant is irresponsible, and disrespectful. No one here is reading minds. And this ain't a minstrel show. She doesn't have to perform to satiate the masses.

What's odd is that everyone is over thinking someone's grief. Grief is personal, and no one else has a right to judge that. She has issued statements on her Facebook page, so one can read that, and take it at face value. She is probably grieving more than anyone.

The real question is do you care?

Is his death all about YOU? what you want, what you need?

SMH

They owe you NOTHING.

If you love Prince let them be.

They do care. He was their brother! I can't even imagine having to bury/cremate my brother while the world looks om and criticizes my every move. Poor Tyka, man. All of them, actually. Why is everyone so persistent in attacking these poor people? What more can they do? They have to get his estate together as they grieve, and they can't just toss that aside for a public display of mourning. They're doing the best they can -- lay off them already.

what's odd to me is it seems his brothers/sister aren't too well off if they had to borrow money from gl to pay for after death services. so wouldn't prince leave a will to make sure they are provided for? it would seem to be the thing to do if they were close, even if they weren't it would be the right thing to do since they're family. but he left no will, no nothing it seems, just everything up in the air for lawyers, the government to get their share and to sort out who gets the rest. makes no sense.

That's why I will forever believe that he DID have an estate plan, but it is somehow being suppressed. I know, I don't have any proof. It's just my humble opinion.

I don't know what the big surprise is. This is how it's been all througout the entire years we've known Prince. He has NEVER been close with his family. The only family member that he related to and we seen him with was his father JOHN L NELSON. I never seen pictures of Prince with his mother even. And as far as his siblings, they probably really don't care with this will debacle going on. He knew what he was doing. He would rather them fight it out in court then make things easier for them because they were never close. When things get settled I get the feeling his huge catalog of music will be in excellent hands and it won't be theirs. I don't think anybody is gonna get anything and if they do it will probably be just enough to put gas in the tank.

I think the problem here is the difference between (our perception) of Prince and his family. You look at someone like prince n then Tyka n you immediately go mmmmm?. She ain't classy by any stretch of the imagination but we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I think we all want prince to exist as a pure delivered individual .

Bur yeh have s family ain't healthy.

A person's grieving process is something that is is impossible for another person to critique...whether they are familiar with them or not. What I do find most admirable about Prince's friends and family, is that they took the time to personally give out pizza and gift boxes to fans outside after the little ceremony at Paisley. Putting the grief of others before your own is remarkable in every sense of the word. I've never heard of any other celeb's friends or family doing that.

I don't know if they care or not. However, it is odd that there has been no public memorial by the family for Prince who is an international icon. Aside from two FB posts, there's been no public statement by the family or a spokesperson for the family. Something isn't right.

Guys, I'm not hating or trying to be malicious. It's just weird. It's like they said "alright, glad that's over" and went back to whatever they were doing. I've been thinking of Tyka sympathetically, but this recent silence.... Even his nephews seem unbothered. Andre, Mayte, Morris and other friends seem more deeply affected.

Apparently they had no money at all as evidenced by the $20,000 loan they got from Mr. Joke Stealer. If they held a small memorial folks would complain that THAT was disrespectful. If they don't have any money and they have to pay lawyers, etc. in dealing with matters of the estate then yes, it CAN take till August to mess with fan memorial nonsense.

I'd like to think if Prince had made a will, he would not have included his family. He would have included his past band members and his fans though somehow. But because he left no will, his family popped out of the rock they were living under to see if they could get rich. It's kinda sad but I guess every family has their own drama.
