Sorry, my views on the economics of all of this are another matter, but as a computer type myself, as far as your statement above is concerned, I have to point out here that streaming is on demand - it's totally and completely different from TV or radio.....!! i.e. the song or show or whatever starts when YOU want, not when the station decides *they* wanna play it. It's essentially your own cassette player or VCR in cyberspace, and that too you can skip to the part you want!! (no rewinding//ff-ing). The technology is TOTALLY different. It takes a server computer with tons of storage, and pretty cool software to achieve this. And that kind of thing takes MONEY! LOTS of it!! While I have never done the maths myself, after you've paid for the hardware, software, internet, and software developers charges, it could be that it's simply not possible to offer it cheap to the end user while making a profit.....? Is anyone here willing to research this? (I've even heard somewhere that Youtube is not profitable!!) Btw, here in India, I've never bought on iTunes, and it's not *possible* to buy Tidal.... | |

i LOVE having virtually any song by any artist that ive ever listnened to, available in seconds, at my fingertips, to play in my vehicle or home or anywhere elese, via bluetooth speakers...TIDAL is well worth the 20 dollars chump-change per month...i need good music everywhere, everyday... |

Everybody is talking about the 20 dollar subscription, don't forget they also have a 10 dollar subscription with 'normal' quality, which is the same as Spotify, Apple, Google etc. | |
