I definitely see Prince's connection with ancient egyptian beliefs. This is very apparent in the lyrics on TRC and I also remember that there was a giant eye of Horus on the back wall of the stage (facing the audience) at all the IndigO2 aftershows. Regardless of their religions, going back to ancient times, researchers have always looked to the planets in the sky for answers about our mysterious universe, and for some it was also an indication of times to come. The moon has an evidenced physical influence on any living entity on earth, and represents spiritual guidance for those in touch with the more spiritual aspect of life. And Prince was clearly one of latter.
