We lose ~41 people per day to Rx opioid overdose. On 4/21 was 1 of them. He was the best known but 40 other lives were lost that day.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

This is just absolutely disgusting, some of us have got to do better.

Now is not the time to derail and call him a "hypocrite", there's nothing hypocritical about the mental pain and physical absurdity aka immense pain that leads someone to administer a medication that is severely strong. These things unfortunately happen, all of the time.

Prince was an enigma, this man did not deserve to die this way. The nonsense chatter and tomfoolery needs to stop, he was in severe pain. He dedicated his life to arduous performing, for people. That in itself, looking back to the 80s and seeing the crazy stunts and dancing he would do? It is not not surprising that he suffered greatly from pain. From the outside in, we may have never known. But this seems clear, there's no need to make up conspiracies and say, "This is not true. Prince was not on drugs" it sounds psychopathic. There's a specific user who is on instagram with a large following on a Prince fanpage. They address themselves as "fans(family)". Prince always considered many of his fans, family, HOWEVER, you are not his "family"- you do not know what he was going through with this. He was using these things, it's not a conspiracy. You keep trying to conjure up conspiracies to make yourself feel better not realizing that it is only causing more pain and confusion. It also sounds incredibly intrusive and denial. Some of us really need to re-evaluate who we think we are in the grand scheme of his private life. He was not just "Prince", he was Prince, a human being first.

The, "He never took drugs," bs is absolutely abhorrent and you all saying these things should be booted off of here and embarassed. Instead of denying, and making up conspiracies much to your affinity, ask questions. Start proposing the questions of: WHY AND HOW. You do not come on here or social media and make up utter nonsense just to make the pain less rampant. Some people are so impressionable that they believe these stupid conspiracies. Him overdosing on a fatal prescribed medication, is not a conspiracy. That is SIMPLY WHAT HAPPENED. Now what we should all be interested in is, why was in the elevator, how long before going in the elevator did he take this medication, how long did he take it, etc. Don't sit on here and type bullshit.

Excuse my language, it is absolutely upsetting. In the interim, some people have even attacked his family via social media because of videos being taken down and the full report not being released. Sure, we are his "family" as in fans. But we are not this mans blood family, and have some respect for them, especially Tyka. I am sick and tired of hearing and seeing people bash her, as if she is not in more pain than any one of us are, and that is not to measure grief. That is his full biological sister, there are things that she knows about Prince, that we will never know. They share a bloodline, that's thicker than the conspiracists that make up his "fan" group.

We need to have some respect for each other, really. This is not a fair thing, this happened though. Making up a conspiracy is adding more hostility and untruths. He overdosed, it is that simple. Nobody is saying he was not sick with the flu, or had actual other issues underlying that also added to the severity of using a painkiller, but he needed help. Prince needed help, and unfortunately, he got it too late. We have to let his soul rest. We cannot be making things up just because. We understand that the media only tells you certain points, but the main point here is that Prince overdosed and was by himself. That is sadder than anything you could ever imagine.

Please have respect during this trying time.

Either the bodyguard was in denial, not aware (like most of us) or signed a non-disclosure agreement to not reveal it to the public. Either way, the sad and tragic fact is Prince is gone and let's hope his death will shed light to the increasing problem of opioid addiction so his death will not be in vain.

The story does not end here, my friend. We can bet on that, it will not end here. He is too loved, and appreciated, for his story to end here. However, the public display of the complexities in the autopsy and toxicology report for now? Seem to end here, and I think unfortunately, we need to accept that regardless of how we feel until we get more information. I think the overdose was the least surprising, because it unfortunately happens very easily so I hear.

This does not taint any image of Prince, and it should not because it even increases empathy for a man who was in a lot of pain. Imagine how sad, that that pain made him? A loving, happy, God-fearing person.

We can keep him alive, we have to pursue his greatness. We have to also be respectful, and speak our minds in a way that doesn't harm others but propose question. I think we will get to the bottom of it all soon. With all of the positivity and the genuine interest in not "letting it end here", we will figure it out.

Either or both could be surgical scars, I have no idea. However my experience with such reports is that, should I be autopsied some day, it will list the scar on my elbow from where I badly picked at a scab in middle school and got the sore infected, the scar on my knee from where it was cut by a bike fender when I was 5 or 6, etc. The notations under "Scars" won't mean that my elbow was shattered and pinned together, nor that I had a knee replacement.

In fact both of those scars are longer than the teensy faded mark left from an actual surgery I had as an adult.

Edit to add: It would be instructive to see the Prince ME report lined up next to a half-dozen other reports from that office to see if they are consistently that terse and minimal. We might be able to conclude that that office does indeed restrict themselves to such things as "only surgical scars" and the like. Right now though, no idea of their practice. Maybe someone with occupational knowledge will say more here.

All the regret is something his loved ones will have to live with. As for his fans, we will have to accept there's nothing we could have done to help him. If his problems had been public knowledge maybe he would have been more proactive in helping himself. but as it was it was all secret so he kept up his facade of being okay. Some stars have been hounded by the public and press into rehab..think amy winehouse. Everyday questions were being asked as to why she wasn't being helped. Her father had to justify himself to the press almost daily that things were being done for her. In Princes case nobody knew so nobody could ask why he wasn't being helped.

Don't know what else to say.

Fentanyl overdose? That is NOT a common narcotic readily available to the public. If it was indeed his physician who prescribed Fentanyl injection for Prince, he or she better have a VERY good lawyer. Moreover, if it is found the physician wasn't directly responsible for Prince obtaining the Fentanyl, whoever the gulity party is, I hope this person is located and held accountable STAT! That said, my heart is so heavy from the autopsy news. My poor Prince. My heart is broke once again cry

The number of unintentional overdose deaths from prescription pain relievers should give us all pause. So scary, so heartbreaking.

The issue that we should be talking about is: WE NEED WAYS TO MANAGE PAIN!!!!! You have totally missed the point. The man was in chronic pain! Do you STILL not hear him?!?!?!? WHAT did he have to do for you to hear how much pain he was in?!? Oh, Prince..... [Edited 6/3/16 4:34am]

What do you find objectionable about the chart I uploaded?

It's obvious he suffered greatly from pain, and the manner in which he died is devastating. Still, accidental deaths linked to synthetic opioids have escalated year after year across America. It can happen to anyone of us.

People are ignorant about intense chronic pain. To paint an addiction like this as recreational is so wrong... A choice- maybe. I have had 3 failed cervical fusions and live at 53 years old in pain so bad at times I have gone 72 hours without sleep. Not talking muscle pull I mean bone spurs into nerves. I do not take pain killers but can understand how it can happen. We all have NO idea the pain another is in. I am not justifying misuse of medication but pain can push people to do things they would not otherwise do. I hope all the detractors... Nugent.. Simmons...high and mighty press and public get a taste of what debilitating pain is like. I don't think ANYONE can judge another's pain. Pleasantly, I see a lot of understanding and love on here which is really nice to see but I just see a lot of criticism in the media and from celebrities who really don't know... None of us do how excruciating his life may have become.

[Edited 6/2/16 10:28am]

Well, you really should do your research better, my friend, if this is your job. smile I have an old friend, a woman in her 80s at the time, who had a hip replacement around ten years ago. She's a witness and it was no issue whatsoever. Blood was not needed as there are alternatives. Feel free to dislike religion, jw in particular or religion in general, but please do not spread these false allegations. If Prince needed and wanted hip surgery, his chosen faith did not stop him. And brainwashing Prince? "I can't be played", remember? I think he was spot on with that assessment.

Just kindly jumping in....please remember, though he was still in the "normal range" in weight for his age and height, one of the articles did point out he leaned toward anemic. I had surgery, am far past where I should have been in BMI, and am not a vegetarian let alone vegan, but because of anemic tendancies in my health history, I did have to have a transfusion after an inevasive procedure. I'm just sayin'....And afterwards, my doctor ordered me to have red meat!!!!...lol

Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

That chart was very telling. And you know why nothing will change? Because the two biggest benfactors of those kind of numbers are the big Pharma and insurance companies. The former because they are selling record number of meds, and the latter because patients who would otherwise be costing a fortune in medical bills are dying early. The political system in the US just doesnt go after the big corporates.

Indeed. I myself had a nerve fusion L4-L5 fairly recently. I can fully admit before I had the fusion, my pain level had increased so drastically over the last 6 months, everyday life was filled with fear and extremely difficult to manage. Thank goodness, I wasn't addicted to pain meds in any way, but I can fully understand the possibly of fallen prey to narcotic addiction do to overwhelming chronic pain to do traumas. As heartbreaking as this all is, it's obvious to me Prince was in an immense level of ongoing pain. I'm so heartbroken he had to suffer in such a way and that his life ended so senseless and tragic. Prince should be among us right now. I just wish something could have been done to help him before this happened, you know?

"So here I sit in my lonely room
Lookin' for my sunshine
But all I've got is two cigarettes
And this broken heart of mine
So let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down"
