Who do u guys think. Nobody can fill those shoes as I am honestly of the opinion music was his sole reason for living. Not acting, not married, not children. He was music. Yep, we will hear it from time to time in Justin timberlake, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Janelle monea etc...but the best gift he left us was probably 2-3 albums a year including rehearsals for the next 100 years.

What's this "us" stuff. You make your own decision. Prince was irreplaceable to me.

St. Vincent is a brilliant musician who can't encapsulate a certain amount of desire in a 14 song, a tune is a piece of a song, a catch, which is and has been her downfall. If I'm to find the interview of her saying what she is working on artistically, she explains it herself. I'll be sure to note you. As for stage presence? Why someone who has no similarity to Prince in terms of stage presence would fill his shoes is absurd. Peace. You're missing the point -- many people here (myself included) are saying NOBODY can fill Prince's shoes BUT here are some other artists that are cool...including St. Vincent. You don't care about my opinion? Well, neat. Here's a cookie, bitch. Nobody cares about your opinion more or less than mine. We're all in here talking about artists we enjoy, and you gotta bust in with your ignorant bullshit about St. Vincent. I bet you're just bothered because she's a woman. I wouldn't be upset she's a woman, because I happen to be a woman, and black. Two things that people don't like. As I have said, I still could care less about what you have to write and am still unsure as to why you're typing to me when I never ignited conversation with you in any sort of place or time on this forum. Peace.

Your English isn't the best, so I'm not entirely sure what you're saying about St. Vincent and interviews. If you can't find any good interviews with her, try using Google. There's a shit-ton of interviews. Here is one example. You don't need to like St. Vincent, but if you're going to continue to slam her and talk nonsense about her not being able to write a tune or having no stage presence, then just admit that your hobbies include talking out of your ass. http://www.rollingstone.c...t-20140623 [Edited 5/27/16 17:55pm] I've seen her live. I never said she was a bad musician, she just has no correlation to Prince whatsoever as I mentioned in my post that was not directed to you. Yes, you, someone I don't know. You, again someone I did not encourage conversation with, who takes an initiative to blatantly harass me for my opinion and continue to write me paragraphs about it and then assume I must hate her because she's a woman without any idea that I happen to also be a woman. Disappear with your links. As stated, Prince unfortunately doesn't have any peers or people that can fill his shoes, that's what the post was about. Nothing wrong with liking her.

Of course, but musically on earth, no one for me personally. He was my main entertainer, and I still feel so sad that he's no longer here. Every day, whether I want to or not, my mind thinks of Prince, and then I think about him being gone from this world forever, and the hurting starts all over again.

'Take his place', lol.
Honor the legacy, though? The Revolution with Sheila and Jessie Johnson. I'd also like the idea of The Time incorporating Prince hits into their show going forward.

So said Brent Fischer.
"This is not going to be like finding the one lost Beatles track. This is going to be an abundance of material, hundreds of songs. It's difficult to keep track of them all because as well as the ones the puclic know about, there's another seventy per cent that are unreleased that we've also dealt with, many of which are favourites of mine that i continue to play in my head, even though, for the time being at least, they'll never be heard in public".
The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

No one could ever replace Prince. He was singular in his combination of musicianship, vision, ambition, songwriting, and live performance. Prince built a whole world in which his music existed. And everytime we listened or went to his show, we would taken to that world. Prince even surpassed his idols like James Brown, Sly Stone, and George Clinton. They all worked beautifully in their niche, but Prince constantly worked to expand his universe. I could never see James doing a song like Condition of the Heart. Prince had an unreal amount of devotion and passion for his art. The sheer amount of hours committed to learning his craft and creating his art just seems unpararelled by any artist. I just don't know if there is anyone who would sacrifice so much for their work. Honestly, I don't think it's even healthy. Aretha Franklin said, "I love music, but not as much as Prince. he was one of those artists that loved to go into and stay in the studio. He was music to the max." Now as far as new artists, Jacob Collier is the only musician right now who has the tools to be within or near the same ballpark. He plays piano, guitar, bass and, drums. And is now writing, composing, producing and playing all the music on his debut album. He is only 21 and has a alot of potential. Even in interviews, he seems very determined to do things his way. He's not a showman, but who knows.

no one can, no one, but I've been covering his songs for over 20 years and I'm not going to stop. The "tributes" though, many i could do without. Like I've said, you want to honor him, up your own game, work harder, be more serious and let the image crap come after the artistry.

Of course NO ONE can take Prince's place...but of current artists I get a little of Prince's vibe, talent, and mystique from Miguel. His "Wildheart" album last year was great. "Flesh", "Leaves", "Simplethings", "Face The Sun"...a lot of great songs from an artist who writes and plays guitar and dances and mixes the sacred and profane. He's only 3 albums in and showing a lot of potential; I will enjoy following his career.
