I know Ive given Mayte hell over the years lol but she did good. Nice to see her out there as a mature woman...hopefully she is working through all this.

I liked it because I don't really want tribute singers trying to look or sound exactly like the person being honored. That's what I disliked about Gaga's Bowie tribute. I would much rather she had done it differently.

In the backstage interview she said that Prince always told her to use her voice to take people to church.

I agree about the Bowie tribute...I guess Im just particular about Princes music...her voice is lovely and she does give you that church vibe, but she does to much for me. Maybe she just gets caught in the feeling shrug

I love Erykah I just wasnt feeling her performance...I watched it again and still wasnt getting that one...the Roots were on point though.
