If anything, Rihanna is probably throwing shade at Madonna, not Prince. After watching the tribute last night, my wife looked to me and asked "what did YOU think of it?" I was disappointed. It felt rushed, was a bad song voice for an average singer, and bringing SW out seemed like a last-minute decision.

They all bitch at each other 'throw shade' 'hate on each other' compete in a bad way with each other. Rihanna her self quote Madonna as one of her influences so I don't know what she is doing.

It has already been announced that LeAnn Rimes will be doing her version of Purple Rain at the BET Awards.

LeAnn Rimes???? How random is that??? What is her connection to him? I pray BET will come to their senses...I'm sooooo tired of people butchering PR! It was incredibly sad to see how the BBMA chose to honor him with that tired @ss performance. I would have preferred the Questlove speech, a moment of silence and a video montage with his music playing in the background.

RT? I got the creepy feeling like she was trying to wear his skin....the throne should have been EMPTY - this proves how little of Madonnas art is shaped by her. This reeked of her desperately wanting to inhabit Princes realm....I even believe she's desperately grieving but this was badly concieved and executed.

She did look amazing but I just felt all 'ew' about it....

When Lena Horne died all they did was show a quick picture of her...

My only issue with this tribute was the Montage behind Madonna, the pics were amazing, but the cemetary stuff really was not cool in my eyes. We know the man has died, but that was morbid and also felt very much like the "COME" album photos, but Prince was not even buried nor using religious symbols again, too much. As for the performance I cant fault the 3 for doing it, Quest was/is a big fan and friend, Stevie was Prince's influence and always spoke of him, he loved that man probably more than any other influence. And Madonna, again she will get the hate, but honestly I would rather Madonna do it than Beyonce. I have a strange feeling that Beyonce is going to be doing something for him at the Grammy show, I know its eons away but you know how they do things.
