Agreed! Her sitting on that purple throne instead of standing next to it spoke volumes to me. It's his throne; not hers. She'll never be able to fill that seat the way he did. I still watched it all because I felt that maybe it would get better....yeah, it didn't. Pictures of tombstones and a cemetary for a man who was cremated just seemed soo disrespectful to me. I guess she doesn't agree with cremation or didn't know that was his choice. Plus, images of him from the 80s. He had said in many interviews that he wasn't that person anymore. We are supposed to be celebrating his life not mourning his death and this tribute was the funeral he never wanted. Her outfit was amazing and I was in love with that chair but that was about the only good things about this tribute for me. I love Stevie but he just seemed like a save shot in the end. She didn't even showcase her band which was something Prince was known for doing throughout his career. They were just background. When did Madonna stop being a trend setter and start being a trend follower because that's all I took from that tribute in the end. She actually did a song with Prince in her career and she didn't use this platform to showcase it. Hell, she's the queen of controversy and she picked two of the safest songs to sing. If she had busted out with 'Pussy Control' I would have been one of those applauding and defending her. A song about female empowerment sang by Madonna on a awards show that was female dominated. Duh, no brainer! They could have done the edited version and had Prince's voice doing the backing vocals and Madonna dancing her ass off as I know she can do. She could have done Mayte's 'The Most Beautiful Boy In the World' if she wanted a ballad and it would have been exceptional and even more emotional because Mayte wasn't a strong vocalist either. In the end, if she got fullfillment from her tribute to him than awesome sauce for her. It left me uninspired and disappointed.

A tribute is about the artist who has passed on not the person how is performing the tribute...something that seems to be forgotten during a lot of tributes. There are lots of tributes that I thought were exceptional. Bonnie Raitt and Chris Stapleton's tribute to BB King at this year's Grammys. Lorde's tribute to David Bowie on this year's Brit Awards. All stunningly done because they weren't about them; they were about those artists that had been promoted to the next life. Personally, even though I think Madonna's tribute could (and should) have been a lot better, I think it's waaay better than that Bowie tribute GaGa did on the Grammy's. She turned him into a caricature and a commerical. I'm not even a David Bowie fan and I was pissed off after watching that. Narcissism at its finest. If a tribute performer is re-using imagery or performance ideas that they have done during their own shows than that tribute is already an epic fail. Just my

I'm sure she has tons of handbags that she could have picked to use in this photo that don't have the word 'Dealer' on them. I don't think she's in an elevator because most elevators have reflective walls and who takes pictures in elevators ? If it does turn out to be in an elevator, than she's an evil soul and karma is a bitch. The handbag is tacky and disrespectful for the subject matter stated in the text under the photo and she should know better because she's not hurting Prince with that symbolism she's hurting his family and his fans.
