I think a lot of people on this thread need to start listening to Carl Perkins, because they don't have a clue what rockabilly is.

. And we all think that you ought to contact "Reading Is Fundamental" because you certainly have a hard time understand that the original poster is not looking for by-the-numbers rockabilly songs from Prince. . ^He's never written a by-the-numbers rockabilly song, but some of the suggestions here don't even come close. Right the Wrong is as close to rockabilly as Cloreen Bacon Skin is to reggae.

. No kidding. And that's why this thread is cool. The original poster was looking for songs that are rockabilly-esque. "Sister" is the closest. Simple I-IV-V chord structure, guitar-centric, and wild. That's rockabilly in a nutshell.

Do Yourself a favour, maybe? i know it's funky but it has that simple propulsive drumming and the classic synth line that prince uses on these type of songs.

. That one is really the best choice. That guitar lick is pure country/hillbilly. If that lick weren't processed with effects this song could be called a Prince country song.

I liked it the minute I heard it. Was thrilled to hear W&L's backup and fun, clever "Prince" turns of phrase.
