Doesn't seem a particularly hard task though in terms of the spelling, if someone told me to try and pretend to be from the USA then it would mostly be case of just removing the "u" from a couple of words and making sure to change an "s" to a "z" when necessary. The slang thing is less convincing though, you're right, I doubt Mr7 really was him, although don't Americans use "cheers" as well, there's that tv series no? Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

The fact that Mr7 once wrote "rumours" and used the term "slag" does not seem inconsistent to me with that person being Prince. Prince spent a lot of time over the course of decades touring Europe... learning those terms/spellings is low hanging fruit he'd have been familiar with.
Edit: Now that I go back and re-read the posts... doesn't it seem likely these posts are all by Mani? Scanning the date range, don't they end shortly before her divorce from Prince? Also, a lot of the comments make even more sense if it's her.

he was probably on here to see who he could sue if he was on here at all. i have no idea, i didn't read this till he died.

if he IS still alive, and according to a couple of forums he IS, he should "drop hints". he ain't, but I said if he IS. there's a couple of freaks on facebook pretending to be him, too. I mean, I admit, I think Elvis and MJ are still alive, cause that's just who I am.

Then you need to go to the MJ and Elvis sites and spread those old tired rumors around instead of signing on to Prince.org after Prince's demise and trying to do it here. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I know Mr7. He ceased using the profile after becoming disillusioned with Jehovah's Witnesses and deciding to leave the religion.
For a while, he did have contact or at least some correspondence, from some of Prince's camp, due to his posts here. But other than that, he was simply a major UK Prince fan who happened, at the time, to also be a JW. Peace OT [Edited 5/18/16 10:43am]

Cool to know P was on the org but I have a feeling he used multiple accounts and probably lurked so not to attract attention. In the musicians forum there used to be somebody who posted Prince type lyrics and had like a story going and were based in Minnie too so I wonder whether that could have been P thinking out loud for ideas and such.

I could believe that, the use of the word "slag" would be one that Prince probably wouldn't use and one that I never even heard, that was the one thing that made me doubt it was him. Mr. 7 had to be a particularly sycophantic fan though because he sounded as if he were personally defending himself.

There are far too many correct English elements to Mr7's text for it to be P. I know English people who would be less accurate.

In that respect, it was also his to defend. Without saying too much, the strength of his opinions was why he abandoned the profile. When he left JW's it seemed too incongruous. Whatever, I know it was difficult for him. Last time I saw him was at one of the London gigs in 2014. I'm pretty sure some others here also met him at various gigs in London over the years?

not just his religion, his knowledge of how prince felt about things is a bit uncanny. Also, he seemed to state that Prince's mom was a baptist, true? I'd read that she was a JW, of course we all know that you can't beleive everything you read. Seems he had some intimate knowledge of Prince's thoughts.

Gotta admit this is a tad unsettling considering how some are so negative towards him
Checking my hitory on here I'm glad I was mostly positive. Honestly, I assumed he could not care less about this place. Then again...how could you resist not paying attention to a website and/or forum decicated to YOU?
This revelation is the first time I've had a few pangs of sadness over his death.

Whoever Prince was on here, I'm sure he chucked in a few negative posts about Prince just to see how people would react. Maybe he even org messaged some people on here...

I wouldn't be surprised if he checked in here on a regular basis. Perhaps he was looking for opinions that mattered to him, i.e. not the press' opinions but from the fans. It speaks for him if he was curious what his fanbase thought about the things he did. This was probably a way to read about other people's feelings and opinions and still stay anonymous. From what I've read over the years, he was such a perfectionsist because he was often insecure about things he did (most perfectionists do have that tendency, but it's quite ironical that of all people he was the one they said to be so insecure. When on stage, he always looked so sure of himself. Only seldom one could see some insecurity in little gestures or expressions on his face. Or maybe it was just shyness, or maybe it was just him playing with the audience. It was part of his boyish charme imo. Anyway, I think that he was checking in just to reach out to people on an anonymous level, from his own private home, from behind his computer screen. Not having to deal with people who want to talk to him because he was famous or rich, or people who get all nervous and act stupid when being in his presence. There are more than enough examples of nervous talk show hosts asking stupid questions because they try to be funny. A Dutch show host comes to mind, wearing a tie....it's on YouTube, so.... It wouldn't surprise me if those kind of situations really nagged him or at least made him very uncomfortable. I even think he would have been okay with criticism if it were based on good arguments. He was probably man enough to deal with that. From what I know, he was keen on honesty and real interest in his music. Not in rumors. 'Liberate My Mind'

ya, but it's fun, we have confirmation that he was around, all inspite of everyone many times saying he'd never look here. I can only hope that was he who visited my website late that night from chanhassen, it would have been the only time he'd have even know I existed. I wouldn't be a musician without him. I really don't think I would.
