Afro contributed to perceived weight loss? See many comments online stating how Prince looked sickly and much thinner than normal during his Piano & Microphone tour. Could it be the huge afro was simply contributing to a perception of this? If he had a shorter hairstyle as was the case previously in recent years...would the same perception be put forward? I feel the afro dwarfs his already admiteddly slight frame, however he always was well balanced...perhaps it's just the large afro that has lead to all the speculation he was thinner than usual? | |

Yes, I thought this too. When he came out on stage at the sydney Opera house, the afro was so huge, it dwarfed him a little bit, but he looked so cool - best night of my life - I cried so many times during that performance, now I cry Purple Tears along with everyone else. Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜 | |

Are u serious??????? How old r u ??????????He's always been slim.
Around the time of Emancipation he was very thin.
Then he went back to being just slim.
But in the last year or so, he again looked very thin again.
And yeah, the 'fro exaggerated it. | |

To me he just looked like he was getting older. I think sometimes people who are blessed with great genes and who don't seem to age have sudden on set aging. I noticed it in his arms mostly. They suddenly looked like "old man" arms. I don't mean that as a diss at all. We lose muscle tone as we age and actually require more protein to maintain. I didn't think he looked sick, or stung out for that matter... I think he was tired and pushing 60. Surprise, surprise.
