He said "Warren Buffet". My God, this is one of the stupidest things I've seen.

Yes, that's what I heard too.

Has anyone seen the recent Dick Gregory video? Prince believed in Dick Gregory, he talked about him to Tavis Smiley, mentioning when Dick was on a show in 2008 (state of black union, is it?) & he encouraged other people to watch it. I watched a recent video withh Dick in it last night, and I'm not able to say to myself he's 100% correct because, well I don't think I could ever say that without proof. But there's something about the way Dick says what he says. I feel a bit concerned to even say it, but I believe him. 😟

First of all, all thanks to the mods for allowing THIS thread to exist for the time being.

Second of all, I strongly agree with Dick Gregory on almost everything he said. sad I will not say anything else because I do not want to see your thread get locked because of anything that I said. lurking

My dad used to play his records when I was a kid. Very informative, insightful and (sometimes)funny stuff..........In the last few years, I can't listen to his ramblings anymore. It's like listening to someone speak from outerspace...(and I don't mean in a cool George Clinton/Sun Ra kind of way). Just pure nonsense and babbling. I don't even want to listen to what he has to say about P.

prince

He also said that Warner Bros (or whoever) was angry at him, and planned to kill him since he walked around with 'slave' on his face. And that they won't kill you right away, but they will eventually get you. So in 2016, he thinks Warner Bros caught up to Prince, and killed him over something from 20+ years prior.

prince

Ignorantly, he also questioned why Prince was riding a bike around Paislely Park, and no one was gathering around him. He's a local dude, so why would folks just flock to him 24/7? He'd get back inside before anyone could break down a gate or something trying to get to him. But that was suspect to ol' Dick as well.

prince

He really has kind of lost his marbles at this point. Just because you say something outrageous doesn't mean it's probably true because "no one else is saying this!". Yes, no one else is because it's ridiculously untrue. I've never really seen him offer up evidence on some things he's said. Did "they" purposely break the dykes in New Orleans so the city flooded? He thinks "they" did. Did "they" kill Prince for writing slave on his face? He thinks "they" did.

Seinfield voice: Who are these people?

prince

Lastly, Dick has the power to change color. He noted that the Queen, on her 90th birthday, was in a "pink dress... purple". Yes, and? I mean - stop already.

THAT^ part of the story [as a theory at least] is one of the few things that I respectfully disagree with Dick on. 20 years is a long time to wait to murder someone just so you can maintain ownership of all of that artist's master recordings. Compare Prince's story to that of Kurt Cobain's for a few minutes and think about it; Kurt was dead a lot sooner!

OFF-TOPIC: All discussions about what really happen during Hurricane Camille and/or Katrina should be discuss in another thread whenever GD or P&R is open again. Please do not go there about natural disasters! no no no! And these words of cautions are coming from a survivor of Hurricane Katrina.

There's all kinds of rumors/stories floating around about why and how Prince passed, and I doubt it stops anytime soon. You can either choose to fall for some of those rumors or just ignore it.

Sister 2elijah, our fellow orgers must come to terms that Prince Rogers Nelson is the new Tupac Shakur. For the most part, Prince's untimely death is the biggest selling conspiracy story of the 2010's.

Too much.

Prince's death should show people that life is too short to be wasting on such things as conspiracy theories and such.

I stopped going to PR a while ago. Post his passing it's definitely a no go.

In saying THAT^, are you implying that Prince was wasting his time having an interest in a few conspiracies? Remember, Prince was aware of the the issues concerning chemtrails.

Someone tried to murder me. That was after I gone after the globalists on various message boards and helped to expose some politicians. I'm glad they missed! Gregory needs to find more facts and evidence if he wants to explore this more.

Good point. I wonder if Dick was trying to say Prince was already dying while on the plane. Old age can make some senior citizen forget about basic vocabulary & grammer. lol

I don't know how I feel about Dick, but I do think Prince's mind was more "free" than most of the enslaved masses, which is why he was able to channel all of that amazing music in the first place. Everything he ever did was in the name of universal and unconditional power of love. Maybe I do think "they" killed him. TMZ, our "most informed" news outlet is owned by Time Warner. I am TERRIFED of the power they have. There is just a lot here, and none of it is new information, just the same story of genius, free minds leaving us, and us not knowing why.

I love Dick Gregory. I saw him speak last year. And he was GREAT.

But, man, between what I've seen on Reel Black and that Breakfast club interview -- this man's mind is going fast.

It's not the conspiracy theories, he always fanangled those into something meaningful -- it's how bitter, impatient and ANGRY he's gotten suddenly. He was always boisterous, but I cringe watching him now.

The song 'Dreamer' was a tribute to what Dick Gregory spoke about at the State of the Black Union of 2004. I believe Dick Gregory was an inspiration for that song. Prince mentioned in the Tavis Smiley interview, that he may owe Dick Gregory for some credit for the inspiration behind that song, because a portion of Prince's lyrics in 'Dreamer', reflected what Dick Gregory said at that SOBU in 2004. The part in the song about "..holding the steering wheel so tight"bt. Tavis, had mentioned a while back, at the beginning of one of the SOBU conferences, the year Prince performed a show after the event for the attendees, that for years Prince has always had an interest in the SOBU conferences, and he said Prince would call him after the conferences, and they would be on the phone for hours discussing the issues spoken at the conference that day. [Edited 5/9/16 12:01pm]

So Prince was hooked on that Dick Gregory (not surprised).

Doesn't mean that Dick Gregory doesn't have ..issues.

I don't know what issues Dick Gregory has, but Tavis made it clear to his audience, at one of the later SOBU conferences, the year Prince did a concert for the attendees afterwards, and before he introduced the panel, that Prince always had interests in the discussions of those conferences, and would call Tavis after the conference, they would both discuss over the phone for hours the issues discussed at the conference. I watched that conference that was aired live on a span. I remember the camera showing Sheila E. sitting in the audience taking notes, as she attended that conference also.

OK, I don't co sign with everything Mr Gregory says BUT I wouldn't be 2 quick 2 dismiss everything he says. He's hipped me 2 number of things, in recent times 2. Many things that were once labeled & dismissed as conspiracy theories were later proven correct. The term is over used. Gotta admit he lost me on this one tho.
