I know a lot of Prince fans have heard of this site They sadly deleted my story before some people had a chance to see it. This is a TRUE story and it actually happened to me and I want to share with you all because I have kept it to myself for a long time. So here it is. - Ciena

My name is Ciena Aubert and I met Prince back in 1988 while he was on tour promoting Lovesexy in London. I was 19 years old at the time. I had moved to London from my hometown of New Orleans the month before so I hadn’t had time to take everything in. My friend Arykah (who runs this blog with me) and I got tickets to go to one of his concerts. Now, I had NEVER been to one of his concerts before and I didn’t know what it would be like. Arykah had been to plenty of his concerts and tried to explain to me what it would be like.

The concert was incredible and I had a lot of fun. It was like nothing that I had never experienced before. It was sexual, humid and heady…it was just everything.

But back to the story, it was finally our turn to get our autographs and everything and my heart felt like it was about to pound its way out of my chest. I was so excited, I am starting to feel those feelings all over again just thinking about it. I had my Lovesexy vinyl in hand and a HUGE smile on my face.

I listened as Arykah talked quietly with him. His voice was deep and beautiful and it made me feel self-conscious and even more nervous. I tensed up immensely as Arykah looked back at me and smiled.

That bitch knew I was scared LMAO.

She moved away and went over to the next. I immediately felt my heart drop as Prince looked at me. He looked at me with an almost cocky expression which made my eyes well up a little.

I didn’t want to freak him out so I held it in and it seemed as if his eyes softened as I walked towards him and gave him my vinyl.

That’s all I could say. I was just star-struck, I didn’t know how to handle it. It all just seemed so surreal and fantastic.

He just stared at me for a moment before handing me back my vinyl. I looked at him like he was crazy for a moment.

He didn’t sign it!! I was almost in disbelief as I looked at him. He just had that cocky expression again and he told me that he wasn’t gonna sign it.

At that moment, I felt like hitting him LOL. I just felt so upset that I felt like crying. But again, I just held it in. I was just in shock as I watched him whisper something to one of his big, block head ass bodyguards and he this little wave at me as it he was dismissing me or something.

I just walked away without stopping to get an autograph from anybody else. When I tell you I was pissed, that was an understatement.

So I just walked back over to Arykah, who was waiting on me. I told her what happened and she just laughed at me which made me feel even more upset.

But it was whatever to me in that moment, I just wanted to get out of there and go back home.

Then, I just felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned and looked at his bodyguard and instantly felt my irritation increase. He told me that Prince wanted to see me and my attitude changed right and there. I felt my heart drop down to my feet and my face felt hot. All I could say is okay.

LOL I just forgot in that moment how much I hated him and I just felt excited again! Maybe it was my naivete or just me being a devout fan of his. I asked if Arykah could come and he just said it was cool.

She was more excited than I was as we both followed the body guards outside and to a black limousine that was parked outside.

And there we were, sitting in Prince’s limo. It smelled amazing, like expensive cologne. We were waiting for him to come back. Arykah was literally jumping in her seat as we waited. Don’t get me wrong, I was ecstatic as well.

But if I knew what was gonna happen to me in the end of it all, I would have left.

So we waited at least two hours for him to come out. I could tell that Arykah was getting impatient and I was as well but I tried to stay patient. But moments later, people began to gather near the limo and it scared me. I soon heard some distant screaming near the limo and finally, limo door opened and Sheila E. got into the car. When I tell you this, I mean it with everything,…Sheila was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life, just impeccable beauty. We both smiled at her and I tried to say something to her and she just gave us weird looks and looked out the window away from us. She had a very cold essence about her.

But then, it caught me off guard when Prince got into the car. He smiled at both of us and greeted us both kindly. He turned his attention to me and asked me what my name was and I told him my name was Ciena. He was very charming and so sweet and smart. He even asked me little things like how tall I was, my age and if my eyes were really the color that they were. As I was talking to him, I kept catching little side glances from Arykah (I still love you <3) and Sheila, who stared daggers at me every now and again. At that time, I didn’t know that Sheila and Prince had a ‘thing’, I was totally clueless until I went to Prince.org and read up about it and got enlightened so now I understand why she was so disturbed by us. I asked him where we were going and he said that I was coming with him to his hotel room. My face felt like it was burning from an invisible blush but he made me feel beautiful with the way he had his attention on me, and only me. It just made me feel sort of, special…. it was like having a conversation with a black cat.

But anyway, we reached this very fancy hotel—the name slips me I’m sorry. I am still trying to think of it, but it’s a very fancy, very beautiful hotel in London. His limo pulled around the back of the hotel which confused me but I guessed that it was to avoid large crowds and such and we got out. There were at least two more black limousines that were parked back there as well. I was getting nervous as Arykah and I stood there with them, getting used to the fact that we were out with a famous pop star.

Suddenly, Arykah turned to me and told me that she didn’t want to stay and that she wanted to go home. She seemed a bit upset, which later she told me that she was because of the attention Prince was giving me. She left to go home and just left me there, with people I barely even know.

I know that they weren’t gonna do anything to me, it was just the thought that she would do something like that. But anyways, Prince grabbed my hand and walked me into the hotel. Our hands had to be the same size, but mines was a little bit smaller. I could tell that there were people following behind us as we walked. I glanced back at the huge crowd behind us and I caught a slight glimpse of Cat. I could only recognize her by her curly hair and her red lips. Soon, Prince and I broke away from the group and a bodyguard followed behind us.

This was a really big hotel so I knew this hotel had two sets of elevators-one on each side of the building. I assume that they took the other elevators while we got on these. So we get on the elevator and the bodyguard pressed the button up to his floor and we waited. Standing next to him, I could tell that we were the same height, but I knew I was shorter. We were in this basement corridor with a funky cage at the end of it- anyone remember that? Prince asked if Jason and I would be at The Celebration? Invited us to come. He asked the audience who else should be at The Celebration? I suggested "Al Jarreau." Last thing- Jason and I both said we'd be at The Celebration. I thanked Prince for coming over to us again. He said "Your'e welcome." So- I write this in hopes that anyone else who remembers this or more- or is in pictures with me outside of the venue- I remember taking pictures with other fans outside prior and thinking how are you going to get these cameras inside? Youre gonna have to put them in the car. Anyways- best concert nights of my life. And I had attended other Prince shows prior. Last thing about me. Im 35 now. I really got into Prince in the late 90's - when I desparately wanted the song I saw in Showgirls. "Ripopgodazippa." Which lead me to Crystal Ball. A short year later- I had everything that could be purchased- an insane collection of the rarest things etc. I just fell in love with his whole catalog. Npg Member 4 Life. Etc. I remember how exciting those days were in the early 2000's with the club. And new tracks. This sucks so much that he is gone. And just once I'd like to turn on any news blibb about his passing and hear something other than the obvious- In my mind I hear "Madrid 2 Chicago" or "Joy In Repetition" from Emancipation Celebration- the list goes on. Hope to make new friends- again. Adam S. Oh and someone asking about glass in front of John- what it was for? P saying he had funky breath! It's really for sound.

Man I am loving this thread! Thanks so much for posting. Also I wonder if he had an open marriage with his wives. I don't know how they could put up with that.
