So was he pacing back and forth in the parking lot waiting for someone to bring out his prescription, or did he go in and get his prescription and was just walking back to the car? I keep hearing it both ways, something's missing. Prescriptions can be called in and held so there is no waiting, they can be delivered to your home which is really confusing to me that Prince actually picked his up. Unless it's a prescription he got from his doctor's appointment that day. I wish there was a clear coherent story, I hate these tidbits.

According to KSTP's story on the day of his death, he has visited the hospital on Wednesday before being dropped off at PP. Perhaps he received the prescription while at the hospital, and then stopped at Walgreen on the way home so that it could be filled right away.

I saw the video of this. He isn't just walking to his car, he's pacing in the lot. When I saw this I suspected drugs cause in some states you need to sign or show proof of identity for controlled substances. I just kept thinking "if it was flu meds, he'd have a handler go get it". Obviously circumstantial, but I was concerned about prescription drugs as soon as I saw that video. But, there's always the chance he wanted fresh air too...

there are certain types of meds that the person who the prescription is FOR has to pick it up. And I think pain meds are one of those, but I don't know...they wouldn't give me my sister's pain pills after her cancer operation and she had just been released from the hospital?? also, who is driving the vehicle i wonder?

Here in CA, certain classes of Rx's cannot be called in (I had a vicodin Rx that was handled in this manner). You have to obtain a paper Rx directly from the prescribing Dr then bring it into the pharmacy. In which case, you could either wait for it be filled or return at a later time (sometimes the pharmacy doesn't have the drug on hand so multiple visits would be required).

There could be many reasons why he chose this pharmacy over the others. I personally frequent one that is further away based on the competency of the employees.

That makes sense. He could have been on his way from the doctors, and just filled the prescription on his way home.

Funny nobody's asked who drove him to the pharmacy. Or maybe they did and I missed it.

This is going to sound crazy but now I'm doubting myself. I saw so much Prince stuff and read so much that now I'm doubting I saw a video. I could swear I did but I just re-watched tmz for that day and it's just many pictures. So my apologies.

Because of this thread I used google streetview to look all around the Walgreens / shopping center where it all went down. So surreal to see the everyday setting for these events that have so much importance to us in light of events.

.

they did. the carver county sheriff's office obtained and served a warrant on walgreens corp. for records pertaining to scrip meds and prince, meaning any/all locations. they will most definitely find out what's up wit dat.

.

sheriff also interviewed all walgreens employees believed to have had contact with prince and also interviewed everyone who had contact with prince prior to his passing. this would include whoever drove him to the store.

.

i haven't read the sealed court file regarding the official investigation, i'm repeating only what i've read from the sheriff's office's statements, and inferring a few details based on my line of work.

.

have faith, they WILL find out what happened.

if he got the scrip AT the hospital, he could've gotten it filled at the hospital pharmacy.

however, I don't believe a hospital visit to treat an OD would result in a scrip for more Percocet.

Yeah, I can see them being thorough.

mind you, imo we are likely not legally entitled to know the results of the investigation, and the court may keep it all sealed up from public vew.

Im ready for that, but I was reading up on MJ's death the other day out of curiosity to see if I could determine any similarities. There are none as far as I can tell. But what has been released about his death is pretty detailed, including info on prexisting conditions not related to his death.

What does that mean? What does age have to do with anything?

It's kind of hilarious because I think of my mom as the target audience for TMZ, and she's in her 50s. That Harvey Levin guy is 65, but somehow TMZ is a < 35 thing.

I'm 26 and no one my age likes or enjoys TMZ's presence but there's no doubt they get the exclusives so they are reliable even if they suck lol

Is it possible he was going there for Suboxone?

He may have already been on it... Perhaps they didn't follow protocol with prescribing it.

After the Narcan I could see them giving him a script for Suboxone. Maybe he had some Percs laying around, was still in a lot of pain, and maybe mixed the two. He could easily OD that way if he was trying to treat himself while he tried to figure out what to do.
Surprise, surprise.

For all we know, this photo could have been taken months ago. Whilst I believe Prince did visit a Walgreens the day before, since when did a journalist ever let the accuracy of a photo get in the way of breaking a news story?
