OMGM I can't believe I'm falling into this but I just have to ask. How does him going to that specific support the theory of a drug addiction? The connection just seems so weak.

It's because TMZ reported he was there 4 times in a week, and he had OD'd on prescription painkillers a few days before that. So it's a probability connection. Someone OD's on painkillers, then frequents a pharmacy in abundance right after = he may have been abusing meds.

[Edited 5/2/16 16:50pm]

What proof do they have that he OD'd on painkillers?

Plus, the Police obtained a search warrant for that Pharmacy. So this is the thing that shows him there that isn't just hearsay or rumor.

Medical records from the Emergency guys I think. You'll have to check TMZ.

It's the lens of the camera used. If you focus on someone, and then physically move the camera back and zoom in, they stay the same but background appears to expand and grow in size in relation to them. The depth and distance in the shot being "off" is the combo of lens and zoom that was used to take the shot.

[Edited 5/2/16 16:40pm]

Sounds like an awfully good and expensive lens for a very fuzzy shot. That lens makes it look like I could hop that wall and smack that building all at once in the prince shot. But in truth there's some walking involved between the 2 building. I don't know, weird.

This effect can be achieved with the cheapest of lenses, it's how any lens works that has a zoom function. It may have even been a phone or video camera. I've "expended" the background on my $40 digital camera to get better looking vacation shots.

Because someone says something happened 4 times does not mean it happened. How many times has Tronald Dump said he's going to build a wall? It will never happen.

Folks, be patient for the autopsy reports. These kinds of posts are ridiculous.

They have photos, so he was there 4 times. This speculation is not ridiculous at all, it's just piecing together stuff from evidence. Agreed, it's all speculation until an official cause is released. But as TMZ work off credible sources and facts from police, it's probably pretty accurate as they have a track record of being.

I've only seen one photo, not 4. The photo only shows that he went there one time. Unless you have 3 other photos that haven't been shown yet to prove he went there 4 times?

Maybe so, I'll have to try it some time.

It's just Depth of Field + Perspective. Basic photography techniques.

For instance in the Lord of the Rings they played with forced perspective a lot to make the hobbits appear smaller, in scenes where they wanted to do so optically without using any CGI. They simply placed the actor playing Gandalf closer to the camera, and combined with a deep Depth of Field and the perspective of the camera lens it makes him look a lot bigger than he really is. (The top shot shows how it appears in the movie, the bottom shot shows how they pulled off this illusion.)

That photo.

It was when i saw this photo for the first time it really hit me in the guts.Because this is a caption of Prince a few hours before his death and from reports it was said that at the time this photo was taken he was sweating, walking up and down and appearing more nervous than ever.So looking at this photo it really kinda shocked me and made me sad because it's like "ok, this is a moment where shit is really hitting the fan" - like, i never could have even imagined Prince being in a really worrying situation, but actually seeing him being so nervous about something (potential life threatening) only a few hours before his death is really heartbreaking.

It's really the saddest photo of Prince i have ever seen and will.

Well you do have to take into account that the person taking the photo probably had no idea he was in such a state let alone of course knowing that he would die within a few hours.He/she probably just thought, "Wow, Prince".

It's really a sad, lonely, desperate photo.

WHAT DOES GOING TO A SPECIFIC WALGREENS PROVE ANYWAY OTHER THAN NO MATTER THE REASON, MAYBE HE WANTED SOME PRIVACY?!?!?!?!?!?!? LET THE MAN REST SO SHUT UP ALREADY, DAMN!!!

You're right, it doesn't matter and wouldn't hold up in a court of law proving anything other than he was near a Walgreens. However, I think people are just trying - in the grief - to make sense out of anything since this whole thing is UNBELIEVABLE. But I get it... and it won't bring him back. sad

I'd consider myself more a neighbor than a fan, but nonetheless, the media coverage has gotten under my skin and thought I could offer some reassurance. That photo is not from any of the local Walgreens stores. Not the two on route 5, not the one in Minnetonka that TMZ is claiming. There is no brick retaining wall in the parking lot of any of them. The articles all over about him driving past so many pharmacies to get to this specific one in Minnetonka? Nope. I don't know where that picture was taken, but it wasn't there. Honestly it looks more like the outside of the local coffee shop he would frequent.

Thanks. TMZ exemplifies what is wrong with people under 35 in society today.

What does that mean? What does age have to do with anything?

It's kind of hilarious because I think of my mom as the target audience for TMZ, and she's in her 50s. That Harvey Levin guy is 65, but somehow TMZ is a < 35 thing.

I think whoever took this photo may not (unless they were really paying attention to Prince) have realized what was going on with him. Maybe they were not a big fan so didn't know about the plane stuff and his health, hopefully, they just saw him and said, "Oh look, it's Prince" and snapped a photo, not realizing something was wrong -- I hope anyway.

Do such things as daily prescriptions exist in the US where you have to pick up your meds everyday as opposed to getting a week's worth in one go? Or was he using dodgy precriptions? Which would then beg the question, why keep going to the same pharmacy?

Damn this speculation! The results cant come soon enough...

Now I'm just confused. But if I lived there in Chan I would be doing the same. This sudden passing away is just too mysterious for my liking and I would want to play detective to. Any distraction helps too.

Speaking of detective work, I can tell you that with most things, usually what it *looks like it may be* is usually *what it is/turns out to be*. So far, it looks to me like Prince got prescribed pain killers sometime around 2009 or so, got addicted from 2011-2015 or so, kicked the habit in 2016, went into withdrawals (the flu symptoms), fell off the wagon, pharmacy hopped and OD'd (maybe not a strict OD on Percocet, but they will have caused the respirator/heart failure/whatever happened in the evelvator directly). Just my take using the stuff that's come to light.

[Edited 5/2/16 13:35pm]

.

It sounds possible but I hope we are wrong. Even though nature striking is just as mad at least there would be nothing that could have been done. Prince was maybe too private. I understand the reasons but death at 57 is just heart-breaking from someone who still had so much more to give.

Even if he went to other pharmacies it wouldn't matter since they are required to report filling all the prescriptions of a specific classification of drugs (and for whom) to prevent doctor hopping and pharmacy hopping. Healthcare providers have access to this information. There is going to be a problem for someone(s) if they were helping him gets meds under different names. Someone mentioned him going to outpatient rehab but they may have that confused with pain clinics which are two totally different things. Doctors often refer their chronic pain patients to these pain clinics whose purpose is to help them cope with chronic pain and to help manage their meds when their use falls out of the normal or expected doseages. If he was going thru withdrawl (coming down hard) it's brutal. He could have been desperate to feel better and over - medicated with opiates or a lethal combination of meds. That's only one theory made with too little information at this time. And the photo's location is correct. I was just in that area earlier today.

So was he pacing back and forth in the parking lot waiting for someone to bring out his prescription, or did he go in and get his prescription and was just walking back to the car? I keep hearing it both ways, something's missing. Prescriptions can be called in and held so there is no waiting, they can be delivered to your home which is really confusing to me that Prince actually picked his up. Unless it's a prescription he got from his doctor's appointment that day. I wish there was a clear coherent story, I hate these tidbits.

Here in CA, certain classes of Rx's cannot be called in (I had a vicodin Rx that was handled in this manner). You have to obtain a paper Rx directly from the prescribing Dr then bring it into the pharmacy. In which case, you could either wait for it be filled or return at a later time (sometimes the pharmacy doesn't have the drug on hand so multiple visits would be required).

There could be many reasons why he chose this pharmacy over the others. I personally frequent one that is further away based on the competency of the employees.
