TIME's on Prince was nice, but yeah, will it happen again, probably not. I'm assuming it's Elvis' Bday or something since he passed some 40 years ago, his fanbase is in their 70s plus. It's just annoying digging through all the tab trash looking for the decent stuff.

You should be able to find the Essence & Rolling Stone Collector's Edtions at your local Walgreens.

I agree, very tasteful, classy and touching. Did anyone get this copy of the New Yorker? Is there much of a tribute to Prince? I might get it anyway because of the cover.

Although they did a moving job with the (Purple Rain) cover, the New Yorker tribute inside is very, very small.

I enjoyed the Conde Nast commemorative tribute, many older interviews with or about him that I had never seen or read before.

So what other commemorative issues should we assume are in the pipeline? Would be nice if Billboard did a complete issue -- not just a few pages.

So far I've bought:

Rolling Stone (non-commemorative issue -- bought 2 because it's my all-time favorite photo of Prince)
The New Yorker (best cover of them all)

Conde Nast (commemorative issue)

Rolling Stone (commemorative issue)

Newsweek (commemorative issue)
Time (commemorative issue)
People (commemorative issue)
Essence (commemorative issue)
The Stranger (2 copies -- hoping to make a trade at some point for something not in the U.S.)

Issues I want:

Vanity Fair (unsure if commemorative issue or not -- does anyone know? Also, it is French so good luck on that)
Classic Pop - Prince A Celebration (commemorative issue)
Muziq (commemorative issue)

Not interested in magazines that just put his photo on the cover, or anything unsubstantial.

Could care less about photos, I want stories. Hopefully stories I haven't heard/read before. Personally, I'd love to see a commemorative issue of Playboy, assuming they could get enough articles.

Unfortunately we did not get most of those magazines here in Portugal. I got one local music magazine that did a whole publication on Prince and a friend has sent me a Billboard issue.
About that MOJO cover: I get it, it was an anniversary issue for Dylan, but still I would expect the death of an artist like Prince to overide everything. Stop the press! Every single magazine should have had Prince on the cover. In fact, the whole world should have stopped and taken a moment. Or two. Three, in fact. And dance. Dance all night. Only then could everyone go about their business.

I just picked up the Essence and Conde Nast issues to go along with my Time and People commemorative issues. I'm curious as to how everyone plans to display/store these when finished reading? I'd hate to just file them away in the house without anyone seeing them
