This. I have listened to the Way Back Home and Affirmations non-stop. I don't think its dark at all. On the contrary, it's been quite uplifting for me. It kinda goes to what Eric Leeds said with regard to his thoughts that Prince "was not meant to grow old". As much as it hurts, I sort of agree, and Way Back Home describes Prince believing this in a way as well...like he knew he wasn't meant to be here much longer, but was aware of what awaited him. Or something like that. Either way, I like listening to it these days.

Big City is the one that's keeping me going. It sounds so happy and celebratory with its uplifting message, and the accidental poignancy of the 'And that's it' at the end makes it the perfect closer to Prince's album career. It feels like he ended by telling us that no matter what crap happens, we'll still be all together in this blissful utopia that he once called Uptown, then Paisley Park, Lovesexy, 3121 and now Big City.

For some reason, watching Prince's Arsenio Hall Mutiny performance. Mutiny isn't in my top 50 Prince favorites, but I have always really enjoyed watching Prince when he seems to be having a great time. And for some reason I have had Strange Relationship at the top of my mind for several days now... I catch myself humming it all the time.

We had Snow last night in my part of the UK, wet slushy snow, didn't stick, just made everything wetter.............
But what was cool, we had a Thunderstorm too and the lightning flashes lit up the sky Purple, even my colleagues at work commented on this today.
I kind of Joked that Prince was throwing a D&P Gig with Hendrix.
I am not finding comfort in any Prince songs though, although I have l listened to "The Ladder" from my 'unoffcial collection' of live shows a lot.
Life is short, don't be a dick.

I have this on repeat right now. But I'm not sure if it's making me more sad.

I've also been jamming to his Kate Bush collaboration ("collaboration") Why Must I Love You? It's the sound of pure joy. And so Princely. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I haven't nailed down a specific song, but I do need to hear his voice daily. This has always been part of my daily habit anyways, but it's just more important now to hear him. I enjoy the songs that keep me happy, mostly upbeat songs. Lately, I'm picking out a CD I haven't heard in awhile and playing it from beginning to end. It's almost like hearing "new" music. I wish I had a physical copy of 20Ten. Anyone know where I can find it? Shoutout to the Mods!

1999. I've been tired for years of hearing that song but now I'm back into it again because it really just fits into my world now. I'm depressed and have been wanting the world to end for years but at the same time I have this very humorous and sassy side and so I make a lot of fucked up jokes a lot of the time. I can be funny and serious at the same time so now I find the song good to listen to again with a new perspective with how my life is going and now with Prince gone </3 "I was here in the beginning and I'll be here forever more"
