I disagree. Scalia left a will and clear instructions. His family, church and charities all benefitted. Prince didn't leave a will. There are quite a few people who relied on him for extra income and a job. Long-term faithful employees would expect some consideration if there was a will. His sister who lives modestly relied heavily on Prince for handouts. The JW church and people would have expected some bequest. But none of that happened -there was no will. So who benefits from all of this "noise"? A person who might be contemplating a malpractice lawsuit? A person wants to sue for an injustice perceived? Why? Because they want money. As for the immediate incineration and lack of memorial..Prince's family doesn't have money to spare.

I never thought of it this way....all the people and companies that relied on Prince for their financial excitence, and those not only mourning greatly but out of a job and/or career.

Or that Tyka and family does not have the finances to coordinate a large scale funeral or tribute now.

What a tragic mess.

Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

Scalia recently died. How many pharmacy raids were there? Patton Oswalt's wife just died. Who saw helicopters over their house showing the DEA rushing in? Any search warrants sealed to investigate Afeni Shakur's activities?

Nothing you wrote relates to what I wrote. Perhaps you meant to quote somebody else, because they are two different topics entirely.

The court doesn't give out search warrants just because the cops say, "We found a dead rich guy yesterday and there was no will in his wallet."

When my neighbors daughter died 2 years after having ODed on Oxy the investigation was crazy. They knew she'd died from an aneurysm but they had to check the tox reports to make sure it wasn't related to her drug use. And yep they were all over her medical records, phone and internet records and they checked her pharmacy records as well. It's become standard pratice to try to hunt down doctors who cater to addicts when someone who may have had an addiction dies suddenly. And in his case because he was rich and famous and had aliases and a crap ton of yes men around him it's gonna be even crazier. To me it all seems pretty standard because I've seen it before minus the cameras.
The labs haven't come back yet. They don't know how much of what, if anything, was in his system but they have to investigate it as a criminal case. It just seems way beyond normal because it's all covered in the press.
For all we know the OD was caused by his pain med and codine cough suppressant taken to get through the show. And something else may have caused his death.

I don't think it's rocket science really altogether:

1) no hip surgery/replacement -> leads to pain killers
2) not eating/drinking enough -> leads to problems with electrolytes
3) flu+electrolytes problem -> leads to unstable system, potentially life threatening in itself
4) unstable system + pain killers OD -> too much.

So i don't think there's need for any conspiracy theories.

And the tox reports can't 100% tell anyone if an aneurysm is definitely related to drug use anyway. Sometimes they just burst, addict, non-addict, user, non-user, doesn't matter. It happens. So really it's about invading people's privacy, exploiting people's death as an excuse and opportunity to FIND A CRIME just because they can. It's a fishing expedition, and we're all having to fund it.

It is really sad especially if he might have had some idea that he was sick. And maybe there would not have been such a huge media presence has Sheila E. not said, "I want answers," and then flown to MSP. But someone keeps leaking info and I wonder why?

In Scalia's case no one is looking for an explanation of why or how he died. And no one is leaking info. Same as Oswald Patton's wife (which might take a year to get results as the ME's office is behind schedule about 11 months). No one is asking for explanations but with Prince there are quite a few (not just us fans) asking for explanations. So let's look at those who are "seeking answers"...Sheila E. made a stink about it and then Tyka's husband alluded to drug use and pain med abuse. And TMZ & BG appeared to chronicle every step of the investigation prompting sleepy Carver County cops and ME to be super cautious -which means they won't leave a stone unturned so that they can cover there butts particularly as our nation has an opiod abuse epidemic.

Thank you. One interesting point in that article:

"Minnesota law gives medical examiners broad authority to access a deceased person's medical records, including those on mental health and chemical dependency."

which confirms that search warrants and raids and DEA presence are not needed simply to access or examine medical records.

Another solid bit, which some here have discussed about their own medication use:
"Unless you have a good sense of how much opioid the person was using in the past several weeks, it's hard to know how to interpret a post-mortem blood level."

They put her family through hell wondering if she had relapsed for 6 weeks because they went bat shit crazy with this drug investigation. They wouldn't tell the family we found an anerysm because they had to wait for the tox and tissue tests. She was absolutly clean exept some OTC stuff she took for a headache BUT for 6 freaking weeks her family was left to wonder if she was using again because there was no trama to the body and the investigation was inconclusive without the reports.
With Prince being famous they're going to go way over the top with this and make it in to some campaign. Let's bring awairness to this pill problem by making a man on pain meds out to be an addict regardless as to wether or not he was. It makes me sick
He may have been on pain meds for a decaide or more but to say that makes him some pill seeking doctor shopping addict is uncalled for. He seems to have been trying to manage his pain.

In the Scalia case he had known life threatening medical issues. He had heart problems and couldn't have surgery for a torm rotery because he was not healthy enough. So they're not gonna freak about his passing. It was sort of expected.
Now Michelle Mcnamara's (Oswald Patton,s wife) case is a bit weird because everyones like oh 40something woman dies in her sleep ok we'll quietly wait to find out why. But then again she didn't OD on opioids a week before. And she wasn't a huge pop culture icon they could make an example of.
I still think Prince took caugh suppressant with codine in it before or durring the show and took a his normal pain pill on the plane and oops. It happens and not because someone is an addict they just don't think about what they're taking and over do it. It's only caugh suryp it can't hurt me...

Very very good point. I've tried to share a bit if my story to prove just that point. I've had 10 spine surgeries and so if I died today and they ran a tox on me they'd have to go back and look at that surgical history and pain mgt history and make sure they use those to interpret the levels they are seeing. My Dr. Compared my pain to someone who has stage 4 cancer. Not easily managed at all.

Nothing Tin foil about it, notice how the buzzwords 'Perocet' and 'Wallgreens' keep appearing in the headlines, advertising, no??

If he did have a major drug problem, i doubt he could've kept it out of the headlines this long, they wouldve loved to bring him down while he was still alive, i.e Tiger woods, Tyson, O.J.

Didnt sound bad at all in the last Atlanta show after apparently recovering from the flu, don't remember hearing a cough? hmmm , could've been recorded 20 years ago and would'nt have noticed the difference..

this was meant to be in the cnn thread but its locked. it fits here though. muleFunk said: You are not going to speak out like on Dr. Mr Man and Dreamer and not have these people on you. i hate to don the foil, but this keeps bothering me. he spoke out about freddie gray.he spoke about chemtrails. he spoke about income inequality. he wanted people off drugs, living a clean and empowered life. he didn't want to suck down bigpharmas solution to everything. he just won a multiyear battle with wb and got his stuff back. he was embarking on a unique and compelling tour which could have been the start of an even more reflective and politically outspoken phase of his career. and now he is dead. from drugs. at 57, a clean living, celibate, quiet man with no known drug problem. dead with a vault full of music and no will. i find it all a little too convenient for the many who will profit big.

Didnt sound bad at all in the last Atlanta show after apparently recovering from the flu, don't remember hearing a cough? hmmm , could've been recorded 20 years ago and would'nt have noticed the difference..

no doubt, if he had a drug problem, the vultures would have enjoyed feasting on him and using any excuse to pester the living crap out of him. as to the concert, i heard it...his voice was the best i ever heard him....no way he just got over the flu. even dr drew called bullshit on it weeks ago. he was talking about the plane incident and said "please spare me the flu bs" and the bit about him needing fluids because dehydration? drew said basically no one under 80, absent a medical issue, needs to be hospitalized for dehydration. more bullshit.

but hey, if it bleeds, it leads, right? its all about the $$$$$

This already appears to be going down the Marilyn Monroe route, who Prince probaly studied quite well, the script was already written...it's all show-busine$$ at the end of the day
